Description: Yashin Sushi is a modern Japanese restaurant centered on "Without Soy Sauce". Of course we can offer the diner as much soy sauce as he or she desires, but our philosophy is that the taste of the fish should be emphasised, not the taste of soy sauce. That is why we brush each piece of individual piece of fish with the right amount of soy sauce and add an accompaniment that will enhance and complement the flavour of the fish without taking it away. As well as our omakase sushi, we also serve a range of authentic and exclusive dishes, such as prize-winning premium Hida Wagyu and chargrilled eel freshly prepared on site.

After having tried Ocean House I went to Yashin with very high expectations. Overall the meal was a bit disappointing. The space is simple but welcoming and the decor is perfect for a trendy sushi bar in central London. However, the restaurant did not deliver on its flavours. Definitely not the best sushi in London. Hope to be proven wrong if I go back another time.

We booked in advance from Norway after hearing about this fantastic Sushi place. We tasted Sushi like nowhere else. Every piece was made special, with fantastic dressing made special for each piece. Best Sushi I have ever tasted.
Only negative thing, it is a very small place with table very close next to each other.

The chefs here go out of there way to reinterpret the classics and as the motto of the place suggests, try to wean patrons off of using soy sauce. Portions are minimalist, but quality is high and taste is never sacrificed. The room is modern and pleasant, though a bit cramped. During our lunch the upstairs sushi counter was full while there were seats available in the less appealing basement. Watching the chefs prepare the sushi is a bit of theater in itself. Prices are high and combined with the rather sparse portions might make this a better place for a light meal.

Go here for the food, it is truly terrific. We sat downstairs and our corner table was near a speaker that was blasting "trendy" music in a ridiulous way and whilst it set the tone upstairs it was bad for the ambience downstairs.
Staff were friendly but a little disorganised, so I can imagine some people would be annoyed but it wasn't a big deal for us as we got an amazing meal and we weren't without food and drink at any time.
In summary, don't think ambience works downstairs the way it does upstairs, a little staff training on process and checking would help, but overall service is friendly and food is outstanding and well worth it.
