We stayed at the Rubens for our wedding anniversary and have to say that it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we checked in to the moment that we left on Sunday morning the staff were so personable and eager to help.

When we checked in the hotel manager said that they had upgraded our room to an executive suite which was so very spacious. Also, when we got back from shopping in the afternoon there was a card from the hotel manager wishing us a happy anniversary and a cake. This attention to detail just made our stay really really great and I would definitely go back there again.

The amazing thing about the Rubens is that it was fabulous before we even arrived. From my initial email all the way to the hugs and fond farewells with the staff on our departure, we were treated like royality. The hotel itself is ideally located just minutes away from Victoria Station. There is also a "Big Bus" stop right outside the hotel door. The rooms are small, but large by Europeon standards. They are well appointed with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are a good size with towel warmers and a nice shower with tub. Breakfast was fantastic. Robert, the maitre'd in the breakfast room attended to every detail with a calm friendliness that is unmatched. I even challenged him to remember our room number, and the next day he greated us with, "good morning Mr and Mrs S ... , room 119" Jamar (?sp) was our server. He remembered little things that we liked every morning. The breakfast choices were too numerous to mention, but I will say that the fresh fruits and breads were bar none, and Tom, (eggman) could make any type of egg, any way you want it ... standing on his head if you asked him!

The concierge staff were beyond great, especially David, who was my BFF by the end of our stay. The other concierge staff were great too, there was a young man and another older man, and all were fantastic

In our trips to the lounge we had to wait quite a long time, but I believe we were judging the lounge by the incredible high standards of the rest of the hotel. This did not in any way take away from the great experience we enjoyed at the Ruebens. We felt like family!

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in London for business or pleasure. I believe staff is a crucial part of enjoying a hotel experience and this hotel has the best staff beyond comparisons... look out RITZ because Rubens has it together ....

From the beginning to the end of our stay we were so happy that we chose the Rubens. A clean and lovely decorated room, the friendly and helpful staff, good food, and the hotel's location in Westminster all made for an enjoyable holiday for us. The afternoon tea was heavenly! Thank you to everyone at the Rubens for helping to make our time in London so memorable! :)

We stayed in a twin room here. The room was lovely and the bathroom was huge. The shower was really good and there was plenty of hot water. The only small issue we had with the room was that the beds were so close to each other we may as well have shared a king bed! Luckily we are very good friends, but I have friends I go away with who would have found this close proximity of the beds a bit too invasive!

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are very polite, friendly and have great knowledge of London. The breakfast was probably the best one I have ever had in a hotel. There was a huge choice of food and the full English was fresh, hot and the crispy bacon is to die for. You also had your eggs cooked freshly in front of you - fab!

The drinks in the bar are very expensive - £8 for a shot of Baileys - but I guess this is what you would expect from a hotel of this star rating in central London.

There are plenty of great wine bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Victoria tube station

We will definitely go back to this hotel - is really made our trip extra special

Room Tip: If you want a twin, make sure you go with someone you are very good friends with or ask for the beds...

First time at this hotel. Stayed only one night and I was very pleasantly surprised with the unusually high level of service of this hotel. Specifically:
•I checked in at around 5 pm and the young woman at the reception desk was extremely good. Very warm and efficient. No comparison to the usual robotic service one gets these days in hotels
•The service at the bar was quick and efficient
•One of the best breakfasts I had in a long time and I do visit around 25 hotels a year in Europe, US and Australia for the last 40 years

Keep up the good work.

I will definitely come back

a terrific location with a staff that time after time goes out of its way to ensure your best experience and to satisfy every wish and solve every problem...top drawer all the way.
Food is also wonderful.

Room Tip: there are alot of rooms that open to an inside atrium and very quiet.

Just returned from a three night business trip at the Rubens.

Locationwise it is very central; few minutes walk away from Victoria Station, as well as Buckingham Palace. Big Ben / London Eye, maybe a 20 - 25 minute walk away.

The hotel itself is "olde worlde", so not to my particular taste. That said, the room I had was clean, though on the small side - though probably on a par with other London hotels I have stayed in.

There is no gym on site. Executive rooms have access to the nearby LA Fitness for free, though for other guests there is a charge of £10.

Breakfast was good - usual hot and cold offerings.

Overall, a good central London Hotel.
