We have just spent last Saturday night at the Rubens at the palace. Staff were incredible from the moment we arrived - extremely professional and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was outstanding - large, spacious and lovely decor with excellent facilities. Great location for central London - the perfect hotel to base yourself in if you are looking to explore london and see the sights. Located nearby are some great restauarants. Breakfast was superb and overall great value for money. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here for 3 nights in March 2012 with my parents and brother as it was very close to Buckingham Palace. The service was excellent and the staff made you feel special. Both rooms had recently been refurbished and were beautifully decorated but both on the small side. I was in a twin room so it was a bit bigger but my parents room was a king and it was very small, but comfortable and quaint. Perfectly adequate for a few nights but you may struggle to stay longer as there is not a lot of space to put two suitcases and other luggage. The hotel is very old building and the rooms are small with character, compared to a typical chain hotel.

The beds were really comfortable, my room was quiet and the bathroom was fabulous. The shower came gushing out of the ceiling which was great for washing you hair but not when you didn't want to get you hair wet!

The bar area was really cosy on an evening with a real fire burning and the hotel never seemed busy. It was more like staying in a country house than a central London hotel. There was a pianist playing on an evening too. The breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of food.

The location is ideal for Buckingham Palace area but not so close to the other attractions. However, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for the largest room available!

The rooms were expectedly small but it was a beautiful hotel where the staff were terrific. The barman had no clue how to pour a Guinness- a travesty to an Irishman! But was open to a lesson. Breakfast was full English and very nicely presented. You will pay for the pleasure of being in the center of London, but sometimes you have to splurge!

Room Tip: My room was on the 3rd floor towards the rear, no view but quiet.

excellent location (across the road from Buckingham Palace), 3 minute walk to Victoria Station, 15 minute walk to Trafalgar square and knightsbridge. Excellent staff, that made us feel extremely welcome. Full English breakfast was great, as was high tea, arrival cocktails and dinner in the Library (all inclusions in our package). We had an executive king room, which was very comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend the Rubens to anyone looking to stay in the heart of London.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are quite small, but adequate for a short stay, Executive king room was very spacio...

My husband and I have been staying at the Rubens for the last 6days and have had a great time. The staff are all friendly, helpful and if things go wrong the problem is promptly dealt with. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes from the tube. We had breakfast included in our package, as well as an afternoon tea and 3-course dinner and it was all very enjoyable. We had an executive king room which was quite roomy and traditionally decorated. We will definitely be coming back to stay!

I recently stayed at The Rubens for a short holiday. There are so many positives about the hotel: perfect location, great rooms, super amenities and, a terrific concierge staff.

After an overnight flight from the US, I was happily surprised to learn my room was available upon my early morning arrival. The room was very satisfactory and quite comfortable. As they did each day of my day, the concierge staff helped me plan the day's activities and made helpful suggestions for getting around. They even told me where to stand for the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace so i could get a perfect view! Inquired about getting concert tickets at the Royal Festival Hall and they were able to get them a a fair price! Hats off to Mark and Dave and the others for their seeming encyclopedic knowledge of London's transportation system.

I eagerly look forward to a return visit to London and The Rubens!

My husband and I stayed at the Rubens for four nights in February it is a perfect hotel.
After a change of rooms - I had booked a room with view of mews. When we were taken to our room we found we had a view of the mews but the flowers in the planter boxes outside the windows blocked our view.
If visiting from another country like we were I recommend paying a little extra for a room with a view of mews it was worth it.
Our second room (210) was beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was amazing, everything you could want and more.
The staff were excellent nothing was a trouble, everyone was very helpful.
We choose to stay at this hotel because of reviews on trip advisor and we were very happy that we had, it was excellent and I would definiately recommend this hotel.
