“Lovely boutique near Buckingham Palace Gates”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

The rooms were expectedly small but it was a beautiful hotel where the staff were terrific. The barman had no clue how to pour a Guinness- a travesty to an Irishman! But was open to a lesson. Breakfast was full English and very nicely presented. You will pay for the pleasure of being in the center of London, but sometimes you have to splurge!

Room Tip: My room was on the 3rd floor towards the rear, no view but quiet.

excellent location (across the road from Buckingham Palace), 3 minute walk to Victoria Station, 15 minute walk to Trafalgar square and knightsbridge. Excellent staff, that made us feel extremely welcome. Full English breakfast was great, as was high tea, arrival cocktails and dinner in the Library (all inclusions in our package). We had an executive king room, which was very comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend the Rubens to anyone looking to stay in the heart of London.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are quite small, but adequate for a short stay, Executive king room was very spacio...

My husband and I have been staying at the Rubens for the last 6days and have had a great time. The staff are all friendly, helpful and if things go wrong the problem is promptly dealt with. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes from the tube. We had breakfast included in our package, as well as an afternoon tea and 3-course dinner and it was all very enjoyable. We had an executive king room which was quite roomy and traditionally decorated. We will definitely be coming back to stay!

I recently stayed at The Rubens for a short holiday. There are so many positives about the hotel: perfect location, great rooms, super amenities and, a terrific concierge staff.

After an overnight flight from the US, I was happily surprised to learn my room was available upon my early morning arrival. The room was very satisfactory and quite comfortable. As they did each day of my day, the concierge staff helped me plan the day's activities and made helpful suggestions for getting around. They even told me where to stand for the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace so i could get a perfect view! Inquired about getting concert tickets at the Royal Festival Hall and they were able to get them a a fair price! Hats off to Mark and Dave and the others for their seeming encyclopedic knowledge of London's transportation system.

I eagerly look forward to a return visit to London and The Rubens!

My husband and I stayed at the Rubens for four nights in February it is a perfect hotel.
After a change of rooms - I had booked a room with view of mews. When we were taken to our room we found we had a view of the mews but the flowers in the planter boxes outside the windows blocked our view.
If visiting from another country like we were I recommend paying a little extra for a room with a view of mews it was worth it.
Our second room (210) was beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was amazing, everything you could want and more.
The staff were excellent nothing was a trouble, everyone was very helpful.
We choose to stay at this hotel because of reviews on trip advisor and we were very happy that we had, it was excellent and I would definiately recommend this hotel.

This is perfectly placed for tourist, right next to Buckingham Palace and less than five minutes from Victoria Station. It is easy to get to all the main tourist attractions in London. The décor is a little tired and the room a wee bit small but that is the only down side. From the moment you arrive all the staff are attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and the cocktails divine. There was home made cookies and bottled water waiting in our room plus free internet wi-fi……..what more could a traveller want!

Room Tip: ask for a view of buckingham palace

We stayed at the hotel during the weekend of Trooping of the Colour 2011 and had the most wonderful stay.
From the moment we entered the hotel the staff couldn't have been more helpful and to find out that the hotel was literally across the road from the Mews Gates to Buckingham Palace was just the added bonus to top off our weekend. The hotel is also located within a 5 minute walk to Victoria Station where you can gain access to transport links across London and to the main airports easily.
The hotel is a great value for money and has a quality all of it's own. The breakfast is second to none and you can have almost anything you would want.
The bedrooms are a very generous size by London standards and are immaculately kept by the housekeeping staff.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for any future stays in London, especially if you want to be in an extremely central location where you have close access to many venues across the City.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have views over the Palace Mews
