“BIRTHDAY MEAL”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Ate here with my partner mid week evening for a birthday treat. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We were greeted and coats taken downstairs then taken to a table with a fantastic view of St Paul's. The service in the restaurant was somewhat choppy and slightly distant no real chit chat just the process of taking the order. The waitress did know lots of information about the food clearly educated on the menu. Two Starters, Two Mains, Two drinks £130 including tip. Expensive! Definitely utilising the Jamie Oliver name.

“Upmarket Steak and Grill, good food and service; but not exceptional”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

We've visited Barbecoa on a Saturday afternoon, for a low-key celebration for two and overall we were happy customers. The food was a high standard as expected and the eating experience was a pleasant one.
We've had both meat for mains and one starters each washed down with 1,5 bottles of Red wine; a glass of port each and shared a cheesecake. All for just under GBP 200.

The positives are: Good location, good interior design; great for larger groups in my opinion, not overly formal atmosphere; friendly and attentive service. The food delivers on so many levels. Beware, some wines come as half-bottle as well which is not necessarily marked in the wine list.

The negatives are: I found the wine list too expensive; the cheapest start at high 20s and the decent options are all in high 30-40s. Not a very special, romantic experience for two, more suitable for larger groups. Be aware that you are paying for the celebrity chef factor.

Overall, a good choice and we are happy to have tried it; Recommended for groups of people with cash to splash on celebrity price-tags.

For BBQ lovers; London offers several exceptional Argentinian steak-houses with a more reasonable price-tag and equally satisfying food.

“Great dinner at barbecoa”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

jamie oliver is also famous in the Netherlands. Reason for us to explore Barbecoa. The place is very trendy with a beautiful view on St. Pauls's cathedral. The setting is modern, only the music was a bit too monotone to our taste. We had the special picanha with grilles vegetables, and also the texas pit was delicious. Fresh icetea and loved the bloodorange desert.

“TOO EXPENSIVE!!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

It is just too expensive for what they are offering. The fact that Jamie Oliver has just lent his name and reaping lots of money from this is just not good enough. Whatever is on offer is not worth the money but unfortunately this restaurant will survive poorly down to location. Also you literally have to beg for a decent table.

“Good but very expensive”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

The food is innovative and good, but it sure is very expensive. Walked into this place after being a Jamie Oliver fan for ten years and was super excited to be there. The place was crowded and the service was good, their steaks are good too but like I have already said everything here is very expensive. From water, to wines to beer to food,VERY expensive. It is a little dark in there, I mean ill lit which gives it too much of a bar effect.
