“Simply Fabulous Beef !”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This was our first visit to Hawksmoor. Saturday night very busy and definitely need to book. Our waitress was outstanding and could not have been more helpful. Great cocktail selection. Shared a starter of scallops (very good) in the knowledge that the prime rib (for 2) we ordered was approx. 800 gms. I can honestly say this was probably the best beef I have eaten. The flavour was incredible. Chips cooked in beef fat...mmm! Quite pricey but then this is simply a case of you get what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend this. Will go back.

“Good steak, poor service.”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

I've been to hawksmoor several times, and it is good - I particularly like the big sharing steaks.

The service is obviously meant to be a bit "relaxed" but to be honest, i find it a bit too relaxed to the point where you make a huge effort each time you need a waiters attention! The young waiters seem to be the "I'm too cool for school" type.

When your paying this much for a meal, and expected to pay 12.5% service charge, I don't think it's good enough.

Goodman is much better in my opinion.

“Very happy”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Thanks to the team in this Restaurant who are making the difference.
Our steaks were delicious and so was the wine. The only thing was that we were maybe too promptly handed the bill as they need it our table. Note we did not have a reservation.

“Pricey but tasty...”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

One of my work colleagues recommended Hawksmoor for a good steak so i booked a table and took a chance on it. Very friendly staff at the door took us to our table which was in the bar area as the dining room was full, this in no way bothered us as the bar had a great vibe to it. Marmalade cocktails to start followed by surf 'n' turf and ribeyes...all cooked to perfection and served with the beef dripping chips and a bottle of malbec....mmmmm it was delicious. Plenty of food and attentive service throughout the whole evening. I think one of us had dessert and i am sure it was sticky toffee pudding which again was fab! Yes the meal was pricey and i am sure other places serve the same for less but once you walk out the door and wander thru Covent Garden on a warm sunny nite you appreciate the location and food. Its on the same street as Pineapple dance studio so we skipped up the road like only Louie Spence could....had to work off the food somehow i suppose :)) Will return for sure.

“Best Steak”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

We booked a table at the restaurant really late on and were surprised with the amazing 2 courses for £23. We got the Rib-Eye steak which was cooked perfectly and the chips and buttered greens. Definitely the best steak i've ever had, and amazing value. The sticky toffee pudding was also to die for. The peanut butter shortbread was unusual but definitely worth trying! The staff gave great customer service and were happy to recommend a bottle of wine to our liking. Highly recommended.
