“Ibis St Pancras Stop Over”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Chose this hotel for convenience to catch the train to Preston on the Monday morning. Also met family for a meal in London and it was just a nice walk to Covent Garden. So all worked out well.
I think a breakfast rate included would be nice. We elected not to have breakfast because it was abit pricey.

We arrived in London via Euston Station and booked into this hotel as it was close by with easy access to the Tube etc. It does all the important things well enough - nothing flashy - but the room was fine and the staff were (generally) very helpful. Would stay again

We have stayed here many times and shall continue to use the hotel. It is not cheap but the position is excellent for rail, underground and bus transport to many of Londons attractions. We bought an Oystercard again for travelling and found new bus routes which are always an experience for aboveground travel. We have always found the hotel clean which cannot be said of many hotels in London. Cannot understand some of the reviewers here who complain about the dirty floors. Like any hotel there can be issues ( fire alarms because stupid smokers insist on lighting up in their rooms, and overworked hotel staff). The hotel has a restaurant which is more than adequate if you have had a tiring day and do not want to go out again for a meal at night. We tend not to eat breakfast here but the neighbouring Euston station has a variety of good coffee places and snack bars. The breakfast prices at the hotel are far cheaper than many places on the Continent and anyone who finds it expensive cannot have eaten breakfast at hotels before.

While the location of the hotel is good and the staff were friendly, I found to rooms to be very cramped, especially for the price paid (~200 Euros). Furthermore, for this rate breakfast and Internet connectivity were not included..

During my stay the fire alarm went off twice (and note that this came from a VERY big siren in the room itself) with the reception explaining that "this went off as a result of a guest taking a hot shower with the shower door open". If that was the real reason, they have a serious problem with the validity of their fire system.

The television stopped working for no apparent reason, the Internet connectivity kept dropping.

All in all, not recommended, will not come back.

Cracking location, staff on reception over busy as usual and not prioritising card holders.
Major fault, on going; in large numbers of people smoking in hotel entrance;necessitating running the gauntlet! Staff appeared relunctant to move them due to regular coach and taxi drivers being part of the assembled group. Good weekend rates although week day can be bettered at the near by Novatel

Location important to link Euston, South Kensington & Westminster. Ideal Hotel, when travelling from the NW and needing an overnight stay. Early check-in ideal for getting to afternoon performance at Royal Albert Hall. Then in the morning easy link to Whitehall.

Was really disappointed with this hotel after reading good reviews about it. First of all there is more room in a caravan than the bedrooms, you can actually turn off the TV without getting out of the bed. However, I usually ignore the negatives if there are some positives like friendly hotel staff, but unfortunately the staff have to be the most unfriendly I've ever come across and the most unhelpful. It was a chore to book us in and when we went back to ask for some information we were completely ignored. The guy on reception even saw us arrive down at reception on the morning of check out and he disappeared behind the reception desk to get away from us.Cleanliness was also a big issue as the floor was seriously dirty and you certainly would not have put bare feet on it - and because we had booked more than one night the bedding wasn't changed. All of this would be understandable if it was a cheap hotel but for £150 a night it's a complete rip off. And do not waste your money on the breakfast, we paid in £45 in advance for 3 nights and only went to breakfast once! And just to add insult to injury the fire alam went off 3 times in 2 days which everyone ignored - would be really serious if they had a genuine alarm, no one would take it seriously.
Think twice and stay somewhere else
