We stayed here the last weekend before christmas. The hotels location is excellent if you are in London to do shopping. The rooms have a nice size to be in London and the bathroom is nice. The bed is very good, the cleaning is good and the staff are very helpful.

The one thing that made a bad impression was the guy that came to fill the minibar. We had the "please come back later" thing on the door, but we were woken up by a man hammering on the door yelling minibar both days..

The hotel itself was average: what one'd expect from an old Holiday Inn.
I agree with the other reviewers that is does need a serious revamping.
However the location makes up for its sins: it is not only a few blocks from public transportation and many of the famous shops, but also surrounded by cozy little restaurants and cafes.
There are a couple of supermarkets nearby and a drugstore around the corner.
The quiet street is just an eight-minute walk from chaotic Oxford Street.
Will stay here again.

Great location with this hotel right by Oxford Street and walking distance to most amenities.

Staff always friendly and helpful though it could do with more lifts! Free bottles of orange and water in the room was a nice touch.

A 3 minute walk from Bond Street tube makes this a great location for staying in central London. It has the usual facilities for a London hotel but the staff were more engaging and helpful than in most establishments. Room was tight for space and they use soap and shower gel dispensers in the bathrooms (I hate those!) but I guess that is to be expected in London where prices are high. Breakfast from any establishment on St Catherine's walk (2 mins from front door) is good value. Will use this one again.

I have stayed here a number of times and will stay again as they often offer good value for the area and its a pleasant oasis from the hubbub of Oxford Street. I particularly like sitting in the bar having a quite drink - not easy for the area.

The room was fine - if not a bit old fashioned but large and comfortable and warm. The downsides this time were food remains left in the corridor overnight from room service - this is not really nice at all when you come back from a night out and its still there in the morning when you go to breakfast.

Breakfast was ok although a bit limited on the hams/cheeses type starters and was "served", if that is not a misrepresentation, by a morose staff who could do with some serious smile training.

I've actually got a soft spot for this but just wish they could get the attention to detail right.

Room Tip: The higher south facing rooms are nice

Hotel Is in a great location for theatre land and central shops, but I expected the hotel to be in a better state of repair for the price paid, the socket was hanging off the wall, dangerously in my opinion as it was the one you plugged the kettle in to, WiFi was very expensive, even guest houses at half the price offer free WiFi nowadays, although there was a fridge in the room there wasn't a complimentary bottle of mineral water in sight, I felt I was in a travel lodge rather than a West End holiday inn, just felt a bit ripped off, a new management broom required methinks.

Very friendly and professional woman in reservations was incredibly proactive in making sure we were allocated the ideal rooms for us and our small children. People need to be realistic about what they will receive in London. This hotel was very good value for us but that is of course dependent on what you pay. Our children had a fantastic time setting the lights, walking to Hamley's and then onto a feast in Chinatown. Thank you to the lovely lady in reservations in the hotel.

I am a gold member and I've got to register my disappoint with the proliferation of these innane comments from 'IHG Case Managers' who I suspect are in Manila or Bombay. Once upon a time the actual IHG staff or manager responded and often changes resulted. Now it is just rubbish like 'I am sorry that the layout of the room prevented you enjoying your stay' cut and pasted by people I suspect have never been in the country never mind the hotel. That is worse than not replying at all IMO.
