Situated at the end of Oxford Street, oposite Marble Arch, you couldn't be better placed for a stay in London.

Contemporary and cool, it's spotlessly clean.

Rooms are on the small side but were great value for money.

Buffet beakfast was delicious.

I stayed in this hotel with my sister and niece for a one night on a theatre break to see The Sound of Music. We had a lovely break and really enjoyed staying in the hotel. It is in a great location near to the Marble Arch and the shops on Oxford Street. We were also a 20 minute walk from the London Palladium which was good and we felt safe walking back to the hotel after the show had finished. It was also easy to walk to Buckingham Palace and many of the other central London sites.

The reception service was great and the lobby was really spacious and modern. Our room was fantastic and we had everything we needed, there was a drinks tray, hair drier, ironing board, fridge and a nice bathroom. The beds were also extremely comfortable after a long day in London.

The breakfast was delicious, there were lots of different stations providing a great choice of breakfast foods which we really enjoyed. We didn't have a meal in the hotel in the evening, as we wanted to eat nearer to the theatre, but the hotel is close to many different kinds of places to eat.

Overall, we really enjoyed staying in the hotel and I would recommend it to anyone visiting London on a short or longer break.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to see in the New Year in London. We arrived about 2.5hrs before check-in but were given a room straight away and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
The hotel has a contemporary style and was spotlessly clean. However, for the price we paid I was expecting a luxurious room but felt that what we had was a little on the small side. The bed was pushed against the wall and was so tight to the window you couldn't really walk around it. The room also had a large widescreen TV mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed which didn't help either.... I had to keep climbing over my partner to get out of bed!
The bathroom, on the other hand, was quite big, fitted out with chrome and glass with a huge shower.... just a shame they didn't use some of the bathroom space as bedroom space!
We didn't use any of the hotels facilites e.g. restaurants, bar or gym but Gary Rhodes has his 'Rhodes W1' in this hotel.
The hotel has a good location, situated on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane right next to Marble Arch, and there is an underground station just around the corner from the hotel.
I would stay at this hotel again, as despite the size of the room, it was clean and well located, however I'm sure that there are lots more hotels in London that could offer a better price... but maybe it was due to the time of year that we travelled?

For £85 per room in London (thanks lastminute.com), you'd be lucky to get a Travelodge especially one based in as good a location as this. Don't get me wrong, Travelodges and their like are a good thing and they;re always fine but for a similar price, this was great.

Four star may be stretching it, but it's certainly more than what one would usually get for that price. The cocktail bar (albeit more expensive) was more glamorous than a Travelodge version. Reception was more impressive than a Travelodge. Concierge and doormen were better than Travelodge. You must be beginning to understand what I am trying to say.

Stayed one night - had two double bedrooms. Both were slightly different in layout but still good. Rooms aren't the biggest but we're in London. Hairdryer was great - best compared to any hotel I've stayed in. Molton Brown in the bathrooms is always a bonus. Shower was ok - mine leaked slightly through a crack in the shower foor where it didn't seal very well but not a big issue for one night..

Bed was the most comfortable I have slept in in a hotel. I usually have problems the first night but not an issue in this lovely bed. Best nights sleep ion ages and that in itself is well worth the £85!

This hotel is in a great location - straight off the Marble Arch tube, turn right and you are in. I stayed here years ago, way before the radical refurbishment and the hotel is now unrecognisable! Stunning reception, with an vaguely "airport" feel about it. It's rather impersonal, but then this is a huge hotel.

Staff were good, reasonably efficient and always friendly and courteous.

Our room was very satisfactory. As with many London hotels, the size was pretty small, but the quality of furnishings is high and the bathroom was great. We were seriously impressed with the comfort of the bed and the lovely bed linen - I had the best night's sleep I've had in years!

We didn't have breakfast at the hotel - but there's a choice of two restaurants "The Market" or the Gary Rhodes (not Gordon Ramsey as stated below). We felt they were pretty pricey for breakfast, but their dinner rates were reasomable. Instead, for breakfast, we walked a short way down Oxford Street and took a right turn to a small Italian cafe, but there's lots of choice in the area and a pret a manger right next door. We had a drink in the cocktail bar - this is definitely expensive! However, I'd certainly go back to the Cumberland - we enjoyed it.

  • Liked — The bed and bed linen were lovely!
  • Disliked — Prices in the bar

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights.
Great location at the end of Oxford St, 30 secs away from Marble Arch Tube.
Vey 'hip' entrannce, well let, stunning art.
Room was disappointing. The double bed was pushed up against the wall in a long but very thin room. Walls half green half white, furniture all a bit 'Ikea' (nothing wrong with Ikea in the right place!). And it was a cold room, with a big picture window.....overlooking the boiler/generator and a very drab innner 'courtyard'.
We returned to the room late on Saturday and our keys wouldn't work. Reception desk tried twice, but eventually a security guy had to come! To be fair they did reduce our price because of this.
Breakfast was tasty, but somewhat like a motorway cafe!
Most staff were lovely, especially the delightful 'Romain' on concierge.
Too expensive, lacking in class and too similar to a 'travel lodge'. Nothing terrible, nothing special either. Won't go back!

If you are looking for a Hotel for a visit to London, you’ve just found it.

I have stopped in London for Business & Leisure for a number of years, but for my latest visit, where my wife & I were to take in a couple of shows, we wanted a well located, clean & friendly hotel. I spent hours on the ‘review’ sites & chose the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, all I can say is what a good choice.

Located just off Marble Arch (10 yards) it is within a minute of Marble Arch tube (Central Line), Hyde Park (good for a quite walk after breakfast) and Oxford Street (shopping….), plus we walked to the London Palladium to see the Sound of Music, so where better located would you want.

The Hotel its self is modern inside, but clean, the breakfast is quality & the staff really friendly. We were located in the ‘annex’, just 20 yards to the right of the hotel, but it to was excellent. The rooms are clean, with a large plasma TV, good bathroom, iron etc. The traffic outside is always busy, but this is London. If you are looking to stop in London, book now, it’ll save you lots of Internet hours.

There is a Gordon Ramsey restaurant in the Hotel, however we did not use it as I had booked elsewhere both nights.
