“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

I recently stayed at this hotel for a work conference and the rooms were very good size as far as US standards compared to European standards. The entire hotel was clean and modern with a great atmosphere. Customer service was great all around, location was central to both historic sites and shopping. Overall I would put this at the top of my list for business or personal travel, overall just a great experience.

Thank you very much for your kind comments.
Myself and all the staff at The Cumberland love to hear how happy our guests feel during their stay.
Being away from home on a business trip can sometimes be uncomfortable.

I hope you come and visit us again, next time on a leisure trip.

Kind regards.

Ian Peck.

Quirky set up in the reception area with various pieces of artwork scattered around. Room was comfortable enough but on the small side. Bathroom felt cramped. Was offered a room with a bath or walk in shower. I chose the shower but the layout in the bathroom just felt awkward. Staff at reception very polite at check in and check out.

Thank you for your valued feedback. I am glad to hear our staff at check in and out were friendly.
We pride ourself at Te Cumberland on great service.

I have noted your comment about the the lack of space and impracticality in some of our Bathrooms .These were designed as such when The Cumberland was refurbished 4 years ago and I regrettably can not foresee them being reviewed in the very near future. I totally empathise with your disappointment and I would like to apologise for not being able to remedy to this.

Kind regards.

Booked in for work, had an inner room that face in the inner courtyard, very noisy due to humming aircon and single glazing. The room had recently been decorated, but done cheaply, as there was overpainting on all the fixtures.
The standard double was very small, but has all the facilities, staff were friendly. The reception was very well decorated and of good quality, shame this was not carried on to the rest of the rooms. For the money, it really was over priced.

Room Tip: Try not to get room that face inner court as very noisy due to air con.

Many thanks for your feedback.
We take all feedback seriously as it is also through learning of the areas where we fail our guests' expectations that we can make the necessary improvements and trip advisors comments are all taken on board.
The room you were alloocated did not reflect our usual level of service standards and products and that we usually receives praises. We are a dedicated, professional and innovative team here and we endeavour to implement structures that enable us to provide the service excellence we aim at.

Great location by the Marble Arch, walking distance to Oxford street and edgware road. Massive hotel, good and clean rooms, service has improved very much since my last stay. Would recommend for solo/family/friends travelers.

Room Tip: Executive rooms are largers

Myself and my Fiancé have just returned home from a weekend stay at this hotel. I cannot say enough what a lovely stay it was. To be fare I thought the rooms looked a bit bigger on the hotel website but for all the time we were in the room it didn't matter to us. The beds are so comfortable! A lovely big television straight facing the bed, tea & coffee facilities there if you want it. The bathroom is very stylish, great big shower and great lighting! Iron and hair dryer supplied in the room I really cannot say a bad thing about the room. We had the Buffett breakfast and evening meal both had great selection and delicious! In the evening we went to the Carbon nightclub down stairs. The music is varied and the club has a good atmosphere. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel. I had a lovely time. Thanks all at the Cumberland :)

Stayed at the Cumberland for 3 night business stay.
Free wifi, not especially impressive speed, but passable. Nice room, fair size for single room considering London standards. While making coffee, noted the lower side of shelves was not
exactly clean ( wiped of steam moisture from the kettle, and the tissue came out totally black...)
Bathroom OK clean. Staff friendly and efficient. As this is listed a 4* hotel, I got what was expected, in respect of room, cleanliness and efficiency. Appreciated that wifi was free, although wifi commonly charged extra.
Some guests across the corridor was very noisy, but ofc. this was no fault of the hotel...
Nice hotel, excellent location, literally on Oxford Street, next to Marble Arch..

Room Tip: Maybe asking for a business executive room would keep you away from the "party people"...
