“A nice stay”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

I stayed in Ambassador Bloomsbury for 5 nights in October 2012, and I liked it. The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful when I arrived. I had a double room for myself, and room 410 was clean and simply but nicely decorated. Fresh bottled water and well working free wifi. There was enough room for one, for two it would have been too small. Even though the room was facing to the back yard, I could hear the traffic so well that I thought at first a window was open. But I had no trouble sleeping.
The hotel was more expensive than what I usually have, but on the other side it was half the price of Holiday Inn nearby, where my conference took place, and it was just a five minute walk away in nice surroundings.
It is also easy to go everywhere from this Hotel. The bus stop is right front of the hotel, another around the corner and there are two tube stations nearby, including Piccadilly line, which goes to Heathrow airport. Also the sightseeing tour bus has a stop within two minutes walk.
As many others have, I also enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in the room price. During weekdays there was a good cold buffet with also fresh fruit and smoothies, and on top of it there was a good selection of warm dishes by order (also included in the price). My favorite was scrambled eggs with cold smoked organic salmon. I arrived late on two evenings, and hadn't had a dinner, so I ordered from the room service. Both the chicken curry and fish and chips (de luxe, I would say) were very good and moderate price.
I would go again to Ambassadors Bloomsbury.

went here at the end of October for 2 nights great only 4/5 mins walk from Euston station very handy for the British Museum not far from Oxford Street and a nice good walk from the river
we didn't need to catch a bus or the tube to get to the Royal Acadamy, british Museum, Horseguards and the Millenium Bridge, Tate Modern. Granted our shoes were very tired , but thats how we like to see things.
The Hotel very clean and comfortable and the staff helpful a good breakfast was enjoyed each morning.
A little grumble, the room a very small hanging wardrobe and no drawers on the plus side there was lots of hot water and a great shower
A great reps hotel.
would stay there again.

Had this hotel booked for us when we were in a party staying up in London. The hotel has been refurbished and the room we had on the upper floor was smallish but adequate. I have to say the temperature and comfort was alot better than I have had in some hotels with bigger reputations. There was no bath but a wetroom which worked well. Given that we just wanted somewhere to sleep it was quite satisfactory. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with the food being fresh despite being from a buffet. Often you find rubbery eggs, dried out bacon etc. This was excellent. Would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to sleep rather than as a venue in itself and as long as you get a discounted price, I wouldn't pay general London prices.

I note comments from other contributors about being moved due to overbooking. My own checkin and welcome was good, but whilst waiting in the lobby i did overhear a couple being shifted to a hotel in Hammersmith due to overbooking!

Room Tip: Quiet on the top floor away from the traffic

We booked a double room in this hotel in June (the booking confirmed by email) to be informed on arrival by the manager that the hotel was fully booked that night. We wondered why he was telling us this as we'd got a room - or so we thought. It transpired after much probing that we were being moved to another hotel with no explanation why we'd been selected after having booked several months in advance. The whole situation was handled extremely badly with no up front explanation, and then insincere apologies with a big grin on the manager's face. I will never book this hotel again. It gets a one-star rating merely because there's no option to have zero stars.

we had to travel to london in september on business so made a trip of it, found the hotel on the net . i read reveiws on trip adviser, a good few of which were very offputting. however, though the rooms were indeed small and very little hanging space, we had plenty of room for the short time we actually spent in it. it is also true that the bathroom door was glass, but it was quite opaque and after 40 years of marriage not really a problem. the staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast amazing.would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: on a main road so asked for a room at the back, rubbish veiw but only in room at night.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip. Expected more than what I got. As I requested for a king size bed and received a room with 2 single beds first, I was 'upgraded' to a deluxe room (free of charge). This deluxe room (room 609) however was very small and was -for sure not worth to be called "deluxe". It was clean and everything, no complaints about that, but just not what I expected for this price (200 GBP). Apart from that, the hotel was ok.
