I spent the afternoon with 15 work colleagues and the Christmas menu. The food was faultless. Across the party we had everything on the menu, allergies catered for, picky cheese eaters catered for, and exceptional wine throughout. By far and away the most enjoyable Christmas menu any of us have experienced, managing to make even the "standard" Turkey dinner exceptional. Full marks to restaurant staff who knew who had pre ordered what. Nice extra touch. Full marks.

The food is excellent. Simple but with a wow factor. The service is amazing. Selection of wines way above my knowledge but also good affordable bottles for normal people! The experience was relaxed and awesome. Definitely recommend.

Not evident from the website that this is located in a basement - though the furnishings and lighting make for a comfortable environment. From the advertising and website, I was expecting 28-50 to be a wine bar that served good food, but instead it felt like a restaurant with a smallish menu and a very extensive wine list. This didn't matter too much, though I was hoping for more of a bar feel and atmosphere. I had the duck and my companion had the onglet. Both were good, though I wouldn't say good value. Wine that we had was very good, even though we stayed at the lower end of the prices. Most of the prices on the 'Collectors' wine list were seriously prohibitive. Service was excellent - informal and friendly without being intrusive.

The place is cool even if in the basement;nice rustic tables and chairs make you feel comfortable and easy. They have a 16 pound menu for lunch that is interesting and big portions.I had tasty and crunchy pork belly squares and fresh oysters,my husband absolutely meaty Cornish anchovies and sea bass on a fresh broad bean , green peas and mussel light sauce to die for.
Exquisite real Italian coffee and kind service.
