There is little of distinction to write about; all aspects were neither particularly bad nor particularly good.
The place itself is very typical of all the others down brick lane - more cheap and cheerful than atmospheric. The food was alright, but some dishes were a little flat - lacking in punch and big flavours. I've rated it as a two here, which is perhaps a touch harsh.
To counter that, I thought the service was decent and I'll give a generous four for it. I am not a fan of big salesmanship, preferring a friendly but efficient approach - which I got here. There was no tout (part of the reason I chose it) and the waiter was quick to seat us, take orders etc. He was also prompt with the bill - and waiting a long time for this is a pet hate of mine.
All in all, it is a very average place. If you want a safe pick to do the "brick lane curry" thing then look no further. If, however, you're a conoseur of Indian cuisine - you may wish to find somewhere a little bit more special.
