“Excellent Hotel, Management and Staff”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe our recent experience with the Lancaster London hotel. We booked the hotel for a 3-day international conference and worked closely with hotel management and staff for over a year, during which they continuously demonstrated their responsiveness and professionalism. Once on-site for the event, the service, quality of food, hotel rooms and hotel outlets were impeccable. We highly recommend this hotel- whether for tourism or hosting an event, the Lancaster London will likely exceed your expectations.

This hotel has excellent conference facilities and meeting rooms. Food served at conferences was very good. Most important, the staff are very helpful. All our needs were met and staff showed flexibility in dealing with any minor issues that arose. And it is great after a day in meetings to skip across for a walk in the park.

Room Tip: lower level rooms overlook car park, so get up higher where there are stunning views aross Hyde Park...

12th October we checked in for two nights (We try always to stay when in the capital) first impressions are delightful and so very convenient for most attractions and smart restaurants near by although they do have two very smart restaurants of their own, on this occasion we ate in Queensway as it we were in town to meet with friends to celebrate a birthday.
Access to Hyde Park is but a few strides across Bayswater road and a short walk to Marble Arch and Oxford street.
From the moment we arrived customer care was very evident from all, reception team go the extra mile to make sure we feel welcome, as we have stayed many times we know this to be the same each visit.
We have stayed in superior rooms and standard rooms although standard does not seem an appropriate description,
Breakfast each morning was a wow, hot and cold buffet with so much choice and very warm smile greets all guests at the door,
Cleanliness is 100% throughout as is room service and maid service.

Thank you we will be back soon.

Ron D

Room Tip: To my knowledge all rooms are good but they don't mind been asked for a free upgrade, I was luck...

The location of this hotel compensates a lot for the slightly older decor, the small 'superior' bedroom and the price of staying here. It's only about 15 minutes walk from Oxford Street and Hyde Park is just across the street where you can enjoy the facilities there. Breakfast was fabulous and served until 11am, so no need for lunch if you pack it in! Staff were friendly and helpful and make you feel at home with their pleasant, efficient and professional service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing on to the park

I booked a two night stay at the Lancaster London Hyde Park through booking.com. I specifically chose this hotel as I was driving from Cornwall, had elderly people in my car and required car parking at the hotel. The booking.com reservation form stated that parking was available at the hotel and stated the cost and that there was no need to reserve it. On arrival at the hotel we were informed that you could only have parking if the room had been booked directly with the hotel and not if booked through booking.com. Therefore the information given by booking.com was incorrect. We had to park the car some distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views over the park and are larger rooms

Dear cajrwaterman,

Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor.

I am sorry to hear that you had to park your car slightly away from the Hotel. We had a very busy period recently which resulted in the car park being full most days. I would like to share with you that no third party is able to guarantee car parking spaces as these are given on a first come first serve basis, however no agency is barred from using our car park. However we most of the time have a pre-book car park option available only on our website when making a room reservation, giving you a reduced price as well as a guaranteed place. Our doorman has always alternative recommendations at hand to park a car as close as possible in case the car park is full.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future.

I stayed at the Lancaster with some friends earlier in the year, and due to circumstances beyond the hotel's control, there were a number of errors with regard to my final bill, however, the hotel management went out of their way to make amends and I returned with my daughter in October. We stayed in a room on the 18th floor which was very comfortable and spacious, breakfast is either buffet style or a la carte, personally I would opt for the buffet! The staff were friendly and helpful, my only regret is that I didn't meet Thoralf, who had helped make amends.
The hotel is centrally located, adjacent to Hyde Park with views over London. It's within walking distance of Oxford Street, if you want to shop, but also Kensington for the museums.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate in returning myself.

I have never been a fan of London hotels, they are usually overpriced or daggy, but this is one that I am comfortable to recommend to friends (and all of you on Tripadvisor that I have never met).
It is more practical than it is luxurious but everything works, the rooms are larger than the usual shoebox and the staff are gracious and professional.
Good food, an excellent bar, comfy beds and efficient conference facilities. A five minute walk from Paddington station and a nice neighborhood, but unfortunately nothing within walking distance to excite the taste buds.
And great views of the London skyline from the higher floors (I was on eleven).
Smoker friendly and reasonably priced (although 60 quid for a bottle of Cloudy Bay hurts a bit).
All in all better than the average (Paddington) bear.
