We have stayed here 4 times now and have never been disappointed. The hotel is in a great location, one stop down from marble arch and just around the corner from the tube. The hotel staff are always pleasant and give us a lovely welcome. We asked for a high room so we could appreciate the view. We were on the 13th floor and had a great view across the city and hyde park. Room was lovely and spacious as was the bathroom. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice (buffet) cereal, toast, meats, cheeses, Danish pastries and a choice of cooked breakfast. The bar area is relaxed and comfortable - definitely go back.....again :)

Room Tip: pick a high room and ask for a city or park view

Stayed here from 16th - 20th of May as an extended weekend. By London-standards, the exteriors of this hotel lead us to believe that we were in the wrong place because it looked too nice.

Much to our great surprise, our room on the 6th floor contained a large, comfy bed, an AC-unit which provided for nice, cool and fresh air into the room.
In addition, the bathroom were of decent size, containing a bathtub with wallmounted shower. Even the waterpressure was nice, which is rare for a London-establishment.

Location-wise, the Lancaster Gate subway-station is just around the corner, plus it's just a short walk from Paddington Station. All of which makes for easy means of transportation.
Lots and lots of nice restaurants and bars in the close proximity to the hotel too.

My girlfriend has been to London a great variety of times over the years and have never, ever experienced a hotel as great as this.

Excellent service, delicious food, room was really quiet, bed massive! Staff were very friendly. One downside - the lifts were really slow. Need to have some express lifts. Lots of waited for more than 5 minutes for a lift down to the ground.

Thank you for writing about your stay at Lancaster London. We are currently looking at implementing changes to the lifts which are going to make them faster. This should be noticeable very soon.

Stayed here for a 1 night dinner on May 16th 2013. I got to the hotel at about 1.30, walked up to reception and was met by 2 lovely receptionists (Kenya & Hariette) they were friendly, kind, considerate, a real pleasure to deal with, as I was early they offered me a room on the 6th floor, as I knew the hotel had 18 floors and I wanted to be higher, I asked about an upgrade as other rooms were not quite ready, these 2 ladies were just lovely and put me in 527, a lovely suite. The room was very large, a lounge, bathroom and bedroom. The lounge was very comfortable, the bathroom was very well stocked with soap and shower gels, the fitting were quality, the shower was great and the linen was very soft and fluffy. The bedroom was very comfortable, the bed was massive, the bedding was fresh and soft and whilst I didn't spend a massive amount of time in it, it was very cosy. I was attending a dinner in the hotel that night, and that was excellent too, the night was great, the dinner was lovely, great service and lovely food, well done Chef and your team. Overall the whole experience was great. Well done Lancaster, great stay, first class. The 2 staff on reception are a credit to the hotel and are just lovely.

Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel for a first time experience in London with my 11 years old son.
I have mentioned in my online booking that it is a birthday present for my son and even I was surprised with the great dedication that the staff made - bed was with balloons, tasty cake with hand writing greeting card were placed also! WOW! and actually every question or request was treated with a smile and good service attitude. Hotel is located on the central Tube line of oxford street with easy access to the Lancaster Tube station. Room was clean, mid sized with a view to the park, Wi-Fi with additional charge was very good . The only thing I would change was the little safe - it is not practical for laptops or other things as it is too small. over all was extremely happy with the hotel- perfect for couple/ family/business trips.

What a glowing review! Thank you for writing it. We are soon going to be making some changes to the bedrooms and the safes is one of them. There will soon be lift sized safes in all of the rooms.

This hotel is modern, has larger rooms (similar to USA hotels), reliable wifi (although with fee). The staff is friendly and provides great service (upon check-in, my TV was not working, but they fixed it while I went out for dinner).

My room was very quiet. I had a great view of Hyde Park and the city. Given the angle of the hotel, I image most rooms would have a nice view. I was on the 7th floor. The windows open, so you can get fresh air if you want. And great curtains to black out city lights at night. Also good air conditioning if you need it.

The location is fantastic. Two minute walk to the subway (Lancaster Gate station), 5 minute walk to Paddington Station (for subway, and also many trains to visit outlying areas like Bath, or the 15-minute Heathrow Express). Also several bus stops on the triangular block this hotel is on (I found the buses are sometimes easier than taking the subway). Also near Paddington there are some decent pubs with both locals and tourists -- and some tiny convenience type stores if you want to buy bottled water, snacks, etc. And of course, it's just a walk across the street to the beautiful Hyde Park. Also a Barclay's bike rental station within 2 minute walk. Plus, for tourists, if you are using the "hop on, hop off" bus tours ("Big Bus" or "Original"), there is a stop on the back side of the hotel -- which makes it even more convenient.

Plenty of taxis out front, if you need one.

The hotel also has roomy, quick elevators (not always the case in busy hotels like this).

The only slight complaints:
- the mini bar wasn't fully stocked. No snacks, no diet drinks. But the refrigerator did have lots of room for me to store my bottled water.
- the bathroom in my room was slightly elevated (about a 3 inch step). After stubbing my toe twice, I put a pillow in front of the doorway to the bathroom to remind of the step.

This is an outstanding hotel, and I will definitely be staying here on my next visit to London.
