The hotel is beautiful, in an excellant location and has everything a 5 star hotel should have. However the rooms are dated, good size and the beds are extremley comfortable, however the bathrooms are are in need of a refurbishment, they are ugly and not that clean. The towels had seen better days, not the fluffy towels you expect.
The shelf abover the tea and coffee station was hanging of the wall, you couldn't put anything on it. No Biscuits, cost saving me thinks!!
The room overlooked the London eye and thames and despite all the noise outside it was very quiet. The bellboy was very friendly, the receptionist was friendly but regimented, lacked a little personality and charm. Breakfast was nice but have had a lot better in lower standard hotels.
I have frequented the hotel a number of times and each time i am amazed how unexperienced and under trained the waiting staff are, you have to constantly prompt them, its is very reactive rather than proactive service.
Would i stay here again, probably not, there are far better hotels for the same money.
Would i recommend the hotel! only to those that want a good size room in London (these can be hard to find) but doesn't care about charm or good personal service.
They have a long way to go if they think they are up there with the claridges/dorchester etcMore
