I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. The rooms are contemporary, spacious and very clean. The layout is efficient with all the amenities one needs. We stayed in a basic room on the 14th floor - no upgrades or anything special and found it very comfortable. The service and staff were excellent too - our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived and they called to advise when we could collect our keys. Our luggage had already been delivered to the room. I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor if possible - no noise from the busy street below.

This is our third visit to this hotel, the reception area is very appealing and the staff are all very welcoming and very efficient in checking us in and looking after our luggage.

As we are Diamond members we received an upgrade to a lovely suite, which gave us executive lounge access. Our suite was very clean and modern and had all the usual amenities. The executive lounge staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good. As we only stayed one night, concierge looked after our luggage until mid afternoon.

Would recommend and will return.

Hotels in London can be expensive and you wind up with a Paris size room. Not here. Great value. Ask for a room facing the river on at least the 10th floor or higher. Ours gave us a 180 degree panorama of London including the Eye, Big Ben, Parliment, Shard...you get the picture. Not a huge room, but huge windows make a smaller room feel spacious. Nice amenities. MOST SPECIAL..front desk personnel. Smiling, accomodating, warm, professional. Also, very competent Concierge. Simple pleasure...terrific shower.

Room Tip: Rooms facing River...floor about 10.

We booked a post-Christmas break at the Hilton. This landmark building marking the corner of Hyde Park and providing views over London. We checked in and were given a personal escort to the Executive Lounge (as our room was not ready - we had arrived earlier than expected).

Our room was soon available and we were taken to a suite on the 25th floor with fabulous views across the park and west London. The suite was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and perfect for our needs. We made use of the Executive Lounge for afternoon tea and for breakfast during our stay and found the choice to be perfect for our needs.

The one thing that drove me mad, however, was the poor WiFi service and frequent need to log back in. This is the 21st Century guys - this is basic stuff.

Throughout the stay the staff were helpful, polite, and eager to help.

Room Tip: Try to get an upgrade to a suite on a high floor looking out over the park.

First of all the staffs are very helpful & friendly. For tourist with family, convenient to get taxi is very important & there are queue of them in front of the entrance. It just opposite of Hyde Park, 10mins walk to the Buckingham Palace & Oxford street etc. Room service & food are superb. We stayed there during X'mas season & they have special threats on that day. Very warm feeling for the children especially during the cold winter.

I lasted visited this hotel 30 years ago, and yesterday I stepped into a timewarp - straight back to the early eighties! This hotel looks exactly the same and is desperately in need of a total revamp.... No actually totally gutting and bringing into the modern world. London is full of wonderful, iconic, first class hotels for the same rate so don't waste your money here. This is not a five star hotel. Claridges, The Ritz, the Savoy etc, etc are First Rate Hotels for the same amount of money. However, the location is wonderful as are the views and the staff are friendly. Good food in the roof top restaurant but over priced. Beware a £20 charge for WiFi unless you sit in the awful lobby. Hilton - get your act together and refurbish this hotel - it could be lovely. Provide Valet parking and access from the car park area, forcing us to walk around the hotel in the middle of winter is not acceptable.

Room Tip: Don't go! But if you insist get a room as high up as possible

Although location is great this is just a Hilton hotel without the service or standard of rooms you would expect for a 5 star hotel; commanding the same rates as Claridges, Ritz and Savoy.

On arrival there is a great drive area which allows you to unload your car without worrying about parking wardens. The door staff were great but problems began at reception.

We had asked for alcohol to be removed from the mini-bar but on arrival were told that there would be £10 charge for this.

The room was nice enough but similar to what I would find in a 4 star Hilton. The surfaces on the desk surfaces were dirty and housekeeping had to be called to wipe them down.

The bathroom was ok but it had a 3/4 size bath so could not have a decent relaxing bath.

Overall if you can get a good deal it is worth staying but would be careful what you pay per night.
