“Comfortable stay”
Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 4 nights In August. The rooms are clean, comfortable & average size. Bathrooms slightly pokey but that is standard for UK/Europe. Hotel staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was lovely, with a nice range of pastries, cereals etc. you can also order from the menu & pay for eggs etc. fantastic location, across from Hyde Park... 5 minute walk to Kensington palace. Evans and Evans tour company does complimentary pick up from a hotel within 10minutes walk also. High street Kensington underground is a 5minute walk. All in all a lovely stay, would return without a doubt.

I have stayed at this hotel on three occasions now and always found it to be very good. The staff are friendly and always helpful. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast is of good quality and substantial. I would recommend it.

Nice hotel for a business trip, but rooms are small. Beds are comfortible, bathroom clean and ok. Lot of Harry Potter like stairs. Very quiet hotel in really good neighbourhood .Few minutes by car to the City center. Lot of shops in the area, even a few nice pubs just a walk away. Ok price.

Chose this hotel because we wanted to go to some Prom concerts. Ideal location, 10 mins. walk from both Albert Hall and High St. Kensington tube station. Hotel about 100 yards down a side street from Kensington road, so some traffic noise from latter, but not excessive. Hotel decor bright & cheerful and spotlessly clean. Our double room was quite small but perfectly adequate for our needs with ample drawer, cupboard & hanging space. Very comfortable bed, linen & towels changed daily! We had a bath with shower over, plentiful hot water, and nice range of toiletries provided. A very big plus was that the room had a ceiling fan (I gather all rooms have one) and a very efficient air-conditioning unit, so despite the heat-wave (31 deg. C & high humidity at start of week) our room was blissfully cool & sleeping was comfortable. There is no lounge as such but there is a pleasant bar (we were given a voucher for complimentary drink on arrival) which doubles as breakfast room. Continental breakfast was excellent - good range of cereals, fresh fruit salad, 4 fruit juices, cold ham & cheese, rolls, croissants & various pastries, plus usual tea, coffee etc. A range of cooked dishes was available on request but quite pricey. All the staff were extremely friendly & helpful - we were given fresh milk for tea-making in the room whenever we asked, without charge, and the staff were happy to put our cool-bag freezer block in the hotel freezer for us to collect when needed.
All in all we would certainly stay there again, and would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Pro's: Almost opposite Kensington gardens so great location. Staff is friendly. Rooms aren't very big but they're clean and contain everything you need.

Con's: the doors tend to slam shut (not a great way to be woken up). Building works opposite are also rather noisy. WiFi ridiculously slow.

Very good hotel for short stay, room was very very tiny however everything was in it. I can say that this is small, family, quiet hotel in good location with no extraordinaries. Very close to kensington gardens, which was good because we could go running before or after meetings.

Stayed two nights as I had some birthday treats in London. Good location near shops, transport and especially the Royal Albert Hall. Stayed on second floor, very quiet. Yes the rooms are small but perfectly suited our needs. TV is fine, got a WiFi code (after 10pm) very easily. Breakfast was good as it encouraged me not to have the full English! Staff very pleasant and attentive.

Room Tip: Room 209 was fine, very private, not overlooked.
