“Shortage of double rooms, especially at the weekend.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2010

Stayed here for one night in December 2010. Paid £90 for a standard double room with no breakfast on a non refundable basis.

Hotel is fairly easy to find, but it’s not at the location suggested by Google Maps, this is a block of flats. As you come out of Ealing Common Underground Station you need to turn to the left and the hotel is about a 5 minute walk along on the right hand side on the corner of two roads.

Check in was fairly swift, however, I was allocated the last double room and this was at 6.45PM on a Saturday, when you book you are booking for a “double/twin” not a specific double room so if you are desperate for a double room take my advice and don’t get there too late, especially when the hotel is likely to be full of couples (i.e. weekends) as opposed to solo travellers who are probably not so bothered about having a double room.

The room was quite small compared to other chains such as SAS Radisson, Holiday Inn etc but it was adequate for one night. Air conditioning and heating worked well. Bathroom was very clean and had a good sized bath and shower. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there was a wedding reception going on in the hotel bar and as such there was loud music that could be heard until midnight. This could clearly be heard on most of the first floor which is where my room was located. The noise did stop at dead on midnight though. Not ideal though for those who want an early night.

Free WiFi worked without problem and there was a good strong signal in my room.

Checkout process was simple enough. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Ealing or a short bus ride away.

Would I stay again? Yes but only for one night, if I was staying for more than one night would expect a larger room.

My brother and I stayed there to visit a concert in nearby Wembley. The receptionist who checked us in claimed that there were no busses or subways to get there, and that he would organize a taxi for £25 each way! Luckily, his replacement later on, when we asked again, told us that there was a bus right outside going to Wembley every 15 minutes for £2! The trip took barely ten minutes.
When we returned late that evening, there was no heat in the room, the radiator was freezing, with minus temperatures outside, and wafer-thin quilts on the bed. We rang reception, and someone came up, messed around with the radiator for a bit and assured us the heat would come on in an hour or so. Well, it never did. We could hardly get any sleep, it was that cold.
Next morning, when we complained to management, all we got was a feeble apology, not as much as an offer for a free cup of coffee or breakfast on the house, the bare minimum given our discomfort.
We were very disappointed, and I got a nasty cold after that night in the icebox of a room.

Booked this hotel on an autumn promotional deal , £69.50 for B & B a night for two nights. This includes dinner on first night. Unfortunately, we arrived at 10.30 at night, so had to make do with two triple decker sandwiches, crisps and coleslaw, which were yummy. Location is great, 2minutes walk from ealing common tube, just turn left out of tube exit. Check in was efficient and quick, room was fine and clean. Our studio room had a convector heater which warms up quick but goes cold quickly. Ensuite was fine , shower was powerful and warm once you find out how to use controls. However, there is no radiator in the en-suite and it can be cold. TV has about 10 channels and is a small flat screen. The light controls are abit awkward to use , with a master switch by the door. breakfast was perfectly acceptable quality and staff are efficient. The teapot givbesexactly one cup full. Sleep quality was good, no noticeable noise from nearby traffic or from the wedding reception downstairs. I would stay here again at this price.

I was over in London on business for 2 weeks, conduction an European research project, and I stayed here for the duration. It’s not a high end place, the rooms are a little small but quite comfortable and suited my needs just fine. The food was good if you are staying there on a short stay, but for 2 weeks becomes repetitive. The service was awesome and the place was very clean. The price was much better than staying in downtown London and it is just a few blocks from downtown ealing, and a few blocks from the tube (blue line) which takes you right downtown. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who is looking a paying a reasonable price and have quick and easy access to downtown London. It’s also right across from a big park which was nice as well.

Having booked through internet arrived to find we had been allocated a double instead of twin. Was staying with a friend. They were overbooked on twins so offered me an upgrade with double!!! Ended up with a z bed in room. When we arrived back at hotel at 11.30 pm the z bed had not been put in our room so we had to go back to reception to sort it. It was a very cheap z bed! There was no apology from duty manager at all. Next day the new duty manager was very helpful and did apologise. Don't bother with breakfast. It was awful. Waited nearly 15 minutes for a table. Runny scrambled egg. Ordered tea and got coffee. Very cheap sausages etc etc. However, I must say they were very understaffed so it was not surprising things were poor. We did end up with a free breakfast each and half price room for our inconvenience. I would not stay at the Ramada Ealing again or recommend it. Reception staff were very poorly trained to deal with guests.

Hotel is well situated for travel. However found reception service to be tragic, 4 people at 11am one person at 5pm? clearly some staff scheduling issues. You have to pay for parking in a half empty car park!!!! even though you are a guest. The external noise from the road is appauling as the hotel is only single glazed. The rooms are tired, depressing and very 1991! This hotel is not reflective of the Ramada group and its extremelly over priced for what i can only describe as a posh hostel. On the plus side the restaurant food is very good with great service in this area.
Everything else :-(
