Holiday Inn London Mayfair

Location is TOP for sightseeing, shopping, business, wining and dining, a few steps away from Green Park tube station
Room: standard interior, bathroom can be renovated but clean, large enough to sleep with four (2 adults 2kids)
Service: very friendly and forthcoming
Breakfast: good especially for the price, children free if they come with an adult
I would go back immediately as it is an excellent base to explore and enjoy LOndon

This was our second visit to this hotel, and were not disappointed.
The courteous staff and friendly service make this a firm favourite with our family.
The pleasant entrance foyer and welcoming bar area greet you on entering.
We only dined here once, as there is that much to choose from locally, but found the food choice perfect for a couple of picky teenagers, and adults alike. The food was nicely cooked and satisfying. We opted for a family room with two queen sized beds which worked ok this time, but I think if we visited next year, we may need to change this, as the room was a bit tight for four.
Would thoroughly recommend to others looking for a nice hotel, in a great location, within easy reach of all the attractions, and, shopping unfortunately !!

My rating of the hotel has a lot to do with position of the hotel, which is very good. It is just off Picadilly, very close to Green Park and a lovely to walk through to Buckingham Palace or a 5 minute walk to Hyde Park. A tube station round the corner makes it convenient for transport. Plenty of eating places close by and a place nearby called Shepherds Market which is a little square of restaurants (very reasonable prices) and pubs.
The hotel itself is in need of some TLC. Rooms looking a bit shabby and bathrooms old fashioned, but clean and comfortable.

Hello YvonneManchester,
I understand why you consider that some work is needed, so did we! Well we decided to do quite a lot in fact. We are refurbishing some rooms with a view of completing all in the near future. Next time you are back I trust you will be even more pleased.

Hotel was very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay for shopping in London. Also great for visiting attractions. Only down side was the restaurant, food could have been better and service was slow.

Dear avril c,
I hope you are well. Thank you for your review. I have just passed your comments about the restaurant to the supervisor who is looking into the reason for a slow service. Unfortunately I do not have a particular date but I will ensure that all restaurant staff are working to minimise delay.

This hotel offers excellent location in central London with reasonable price! It's three minutes walk to Buckingham Palace and five minutes to Piccadilly. Tube station is almost under the hotel and here you can go straight to Heathrow Airport.

Room size was also better than central London in overall (where I'm stayed). Hotel is also very clean. We didn't eat here, so I don't know about it. Across street is Starbuck's cafe and there we eat our breakfast.

I stayed a night with members of my family as we were going for Tea at the Ritz to celebrate Mother's 90th birthday. The hotel could not have been could'nt have been closer - just across the road. Green Park Tube station close by - Starbucks opposite and buses on your doorstep. Staff were attentive - especially the doorman - and the food we had was very good.
