Reviewed July 7, 2014

This place was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was super busy when we were there but everything ran smoothly. It is a little bit more expensive than some places in the general area but the location is perfect. 5 min walk to the Underground and a Major shopping complex and ten minute walk to a very nice restaurant area/Kensington high street. Also a great gym located in the hotel.

The hotel has been around for many years and there are little things that need to be addressed such as a sprucing up of the bathrooms, but the service and friendliness of the staff make up for any of this. Had a great 7 day stay, great breakfast, clean rooms, good room service, superb location, no complaints !!! Would stay again !!

Room Tip: Ok the lifts are a little slow, but I liked the 7th floor and had nice view !!!

The London Kensington Hilton is not a new hotel, and there are certainly elements that are dated from décor to fixtures and plumbing. At times only two elevators seemed to be functioning. However, our experience with this hotel was very good. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed here for 5 nights and experienced great customer service throughout our stay. The fact that we had Hilton Honors Diamond status might have been a factor, but not everyone we dealt with knew that from the onset. Our rooms faced the courtyard (so no view) and we had an upper floor; it was very quiet. Location is not the best for everyone as it is very far out west from the city center, but if you enjoy American style shopping, there is a large mall with all kinds of shops and restaurants in walking distance to the west, and as for the rest of London there are excellent public transport connections easily accessible (Taxis are expensive! but that is not the hotel's fault). For people that are not afraid of a moderately long walk, the Notting Hill area can also be reached on foot as well as the western end of Hyde Park. There are good restaurants and pubs just a couple blocks east from the hotel, as well as a small grocery store just beyond that.
I can recommend this hotel as a base from which to explore London for tourism, but only if the public transport system does not intimidate you in any way and you're not in a time crunch. It would certainly be an appropriate business hotel although I can't speak to the quality of the conference rooms.

Room Tip: the higher up and facing away from the street will make for quieter rooms

Dear s-s-opks,

Thank you for your recent review on our hotel.

I was delighted to learn that you and your family had a pleasant stay with us and that you all experienced our usual great service which we pride ourselves on! One of the benefits of us being where we are, aside from the amazing shopping centre which is a 5 minute walk away, but we are located outside of the congestion zone and have several parks nearby. From our doorstep, you can pretty much get to anywhere in London by either one of the many buses from directly outside the hotel, the London Overground at Shepherds Bush where you can also catch the Central Line Underground. Our concierge team are very knowledgeable about London and are always there to help with directions or advice. As regards the meeting facilities, we have recently renovated them and they are a delightful reminder of the beautiful parks of London.

We hope that you choose Hilton London Kensington as your base when you are next in London!

Kind regards,

Linda Griffin

So I was sent there for 8 nights during a month and a half stay in London.
Before this, I was staying at the Chiswick Moran Hotel, which was right besides my office.

I was actually a bit excited about going to a Hilton, expected a lot from it. When I got there, sure it was big, sure it seemed nice. But the room itself didn't quite invited you much to relax. It even had this pee stench which apparently had not fully disappeared from the room when I got there. On my last day there, I even got a spider in my bed, not exactly something you would like to see. One last really bad thing I didn't expect from it, is having to pay like 14 (or 24, can't remember) GBPs per day to get some WiFi in the room. Paying that amount for a night in a hotel should at least include some basic 1GB internet connection for free (at least). (you could get free wifi at the ground floor, at the lobby)

On the other side, getting around this Hotel was more than ok. It's just a couple of minutes by foot to a huge nice Mall. Same place where the nearest Tube Station is: Sheperd's Bush. It is relatively near to London's center, so its location is probably more than just "good".

I had access to the Executive Lounge, which made things a bit nicer, because you could get there and relax for a while with courtesy drinks and snacks (depending on the time you got there). After the office, this was practically the highlight at the hotel.

Another good thing is the friendly and attentive staff, along with the Breakfast menu. I'm quite fond of big breakfasts, so this suited my needs. it wasn't just a plain Continental Breakfast as Europe tends to deliver.

Room Tip: Elevators seem to be terribly slow. Get closer-to-the-ground rooms if you wish to spend less time on...

Liked it . Staff friendly. Clean rooms nice neighborhood good location close to shopping and good restaurants. Short walk to the underground. The breakfast was included in my stay and was good. Air conditioner worked as it was unusually hot for that time of year. We also went to Paris, Venice Florence and Rome and none of the air conditioners worked.

Room Tip: I enjoyed my stay.

Hilton London Kensington is well situated. It's within easy walking distance of Shepherd's Bush tube stop on the Central line, and it's one of the hotels to which day tours will send shuttles to pick up customers so they don't have to get to Victoria Station on their own. The staff was courteous and helpful. Everything was clean. My room was on the bigger size, by European standard. Temperature control was very good, and the bed was comfortable. I was on the 7th floor, and overlooked trees and the Westfield shopping mall, also within walking distance. If you are over 5'10", you'll have to kneel or sit to take a shower, as the tub (at least on the top floor) is on a platform and therefore puts your head near the ceiling. Internet connection on the lobby computers was a bit dodgy at times, but it's free. Overall, strongly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: 7th (top) floor worked well for us.

The hotel is a bit far out of London central but there is a tub entrance just down the street which brings everything right to you but at night softer a busy day you find yourself in a quiet relaxed community
