It is like stepping into an old English house or rather houses. The hotel has a lot of charm and is made up of 4 victorian houses interconnected through various halls and stairways. It is like walking in a labyrinth where one discovers something new around every door and corner. Various art works decorate the place.

It has a very nice gym (although yoga mats are missing and the treadmill should be hooked up to the TV) breakfast is simple but good with an excellent smoked salmon and brosciutto. The drawing room with its fireplace is welcoming so is the bar with the excellent Italian bartenders. They have a very good spirits selection in the bar and good cocktails.

The Room I stayed in was the superior room it was nice and bright and had good closet space. However a BIG minus was the construction site right in front of my room where they started working every morning at 8 am even Saturdays! I did see some other rooms but they all lacked proper closet space. So if you need a proper closet make sure you require one in your booking.

The staff is very attentive and nice. Reception and Concierge are helpful 24 hours a day always with a smile:-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with good closet space and away from construction site!

We recently stayed at No.11 Cadogan Gardens on a week long anniversary trip to London. Our last time there was in 1980, and we discovered the hotel has been changed quite a bit, yet remains a charming and quiet oasis in the busy city. The staff is incredible, at all levels. Richie, the Concierge, is helpful and hysterically funny, and Blair, one of the Front Desk managers, is delightful and helpful. Paul, another concierge, Will, a bellman, and Sorella, the marketing manager, were also great! Outstanding decor; fine food service; great breakfast; nice bar. Areas of improvement, hopefully to be addressed soon: improving the fitness center; some upgrading of bathrooms; better wireless and TV service; making some of the rooms quieter. The Sloane Square location can't be beat, and it is surprisingly easy to get anywhere a visitor needs to go. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Get a suite, and ask about carpeting in the room above. Rooms facing the front are better.

My wife and I recently visited London, and we spent six nights at the lovely No. 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel. We opted for a junior suite, with breakfast included, and we paid well in advance to get a good rate. London is expensive, and this hotel is no exception. But in light of its location and amentities, we think it is well worth considering. It is about two short blocks from the Sloan Square underground station, and there are restaurants close by as well as pubs. The hotel itself has a restaurant, but we ate there only at breakfast. The staff was very attentive, helpful, and considerate, and the room was a decent size and very well equipped. Some might find the hotel in need of some refurbishment, but we thought the location, room, and service more than made up for the slightly worn interiors.

Room Tip: Rooms in many European nations tend to be small, so choose a level that suits you. We opted for the junior suite, which is smaller than a regular suite, but also larger than a regular room. It was just about right for our needs.

No.11 is a beautiful old building situated on a lovely leafy square just off Sloane Street and moments from bustling Sloane Square. I love the description by Paolo B of the hotel as it was, alas we did not find it so charming. My friends and I stayed here for two nights in two suites which regrettably we found to be neither luxurious or appealing. The suites were situated in an annexe above the old stables with a view out onto a mews but it just felt as if they were a bit of an afterthought, a little utilitarian and uncarpeted, they did not seem to continue the luxurious feel of the public rooms. The suite I was in was spacious with a kitchenette area in the sitting room and a super bathroom but the bed frame was so enormous and cumbersome that it took up most of the space in the bedroom and it was impossible to walk round without knocking your ankles and shins thereby acquiring substantial bruising! The decor was predominantly black and it was really hard to find one's clothes in the wardrobe! Still at least there was a wardrobe, my friends next door only had a recess with a rail and a curtain covering it! Their room was also exceedingly cold.

Breakfast served in the attractive dining area was enjoyable enough and the lounge bar was luxurious and comfortable though again quite dark and exceedingly expensive. The final bar bill was much higher than expected and we did wonder if some of the drinks we had paid cash for had mistakenly been put on the bill anyway but we had kept no record so did not quibble.
Overall quite a nice place but unremarkable and rather unmemorable, certainly the suites did not meet the standard one would expect for several hundred pounds a night! We left feeling disappointed and would not choose to stay again.

A few years ago, this was one of the best kept secrets in London: the hotel didn't even have a reception, but a butler would welcome you at the entrance and escort you in your room. If you wanted to, you could write your name in a book at the entrance. You felt like having a luxury home in the very heart of posh London! In the past, it was the choice of English country gentlemen who wanted to spend some days in London without being hosted in their friends' mansions.

Now the hotel has undergone a few refurbs, losing some of its real Edwardian atmosphere, but it's still one of the best place in London. The room are beautiful, if you like the English standards, and the hotel has a very good, cosy and relaxing restaurant, a great gym facilities and superb lounges, where you can meet your guests or simply relax.
