Eden Plaza Kensington

If youre looking for a really nice hotel in a really nice area of London without having to pay through the nose for it then Eden plaza is definitely the place to stay. I have stayed here on several and was very pleased each time. The hotel is located between Gloucester Rd and South Kensington tube stations which are on the district and circle lines- perfect for the 10 minute commute to central london. Alternatively you may stroll for around 45 mins and find yourself outside Buckingham Palace. Restaurants and coffee shops are plentiful in the area which is a must have for me! Kensington Gardens, St James' Park and the natural history museum are all within a short walk from the hotel. Harrods is also a 15 minute stroll from the hotel. Stamford Bridge

The rooms are small. A lot of people have pointed this out and I agree. If there is one slight issue it is that the rooms are a little on the small side. I would however lise to point out that they are in pristine condition and cleanliness is not an issue whatsoever. City hotel rooms generally do not offer much in terms of space anyway so I personally would not see this as a drawback.

First impression of the place was good - looked lovely (obviously it's a lovely looking building being in Kensington). Checked in quite late as we were on the last flight from Aberdeen - staff were friendly and hotel was very easy to get to using the tubes - didn't take long at all to get from Gatwick to South Kensington station. Only bad point is the room was tiny. Looked very different from the pictures. It was more like a short hallway. We'd booked a twin room and the beds were lined up against the wall together, both of us sleeping with our feet practically touching. Was all a bit odd really. However, to be fair for the price of the place and being in that area it's not bad - most of the places cheaper looked like absolute dumps and there was nothing wrong with the hotel cleanliness-wise.

Booked this hotel from Australia for my daughter who was in the UK using my credit card to secure the booking. The same day she booked in and paid they debited my credit card for the accommodation. Nearly four weeks later and three emails, all ignored and unanswered, I am yet to receive the refund to my card. Very unhappy!!

It was an alright place to stay, it was cheap enough for a lovely area, close to central, transportation wise ; good enough, you can walk oxford street for like 20 min. Rooms were serviced everyday, some double rooms are too small for 2 though. If you are a couple then it's ok but as friends then you are Better getting a twin room.

I have to agree with both GaZ and Gerald. I booked a single through booking.com. My first impression wasn't the best as my booking was "lost". After a while it was "found" and I was assigned a room. Well, I thought it was the linen cupboard at first.. it was located in the basement and had no windows at all, the only mean of ventilation was the air-con outlet that did not seem to actually work. That said the room was spotless and the bathroom and shower really good. I did stay up the road before at the Kensington and obviously I did not expect that be neither did I expect to be put up in the hotel linen press either. My room was also adjacent to the Cleaner's Closet/Rest Room so was woken up at 7:30 by loud chatter and hoovers going off. I was feeling a tad claustrophobic and tried to turn on the air/con to get some fresh air.. I got a smell of smoke instead. That happened regularly through the night / morning as guests puffed away in their rooms. Luckily I was out most of the time with my friends but gosh, as a non-smoker it wasn't the most pleasant of feelings.
On the plus sides however the room was really clean, clever layout, the shower fab, Wi-Fi free and a breeze and the location is great. The hotel staff was nice but as GaZ said, they didn't go above and beyond but were helpful if needed.

Room Tip: My advice is to check with the hotel at the time of booking what room are they going to give you, is...

The hotel is situated between Gloucester Road and South Kensington tube stations closer to the first one. A walk to Harrods took us about 15mins. So the location was great and we really enjoed it.
We had a standart double room with a view on musium a double bed - but in fact it was a bed for 1.5 person. Me and my girlfriend are quite skinny, so it was more or less fine, but if you are taller and bigger then average - the size of a bed and a room (which was just a bit bigger then a bed) can become a real problem. Also no place to keep your baggage and also no cupboard for clothes.
Personal is friendly, so we had a good stay.

The people were nice enough but wouldn't say they went above and beyond , the room however , well thought I stumbled in to a cupboard with the size or it . Very clean tho . Great location. For the Albert hall and natural history museum just across the road
