“Out of the way - yet a the heart of everything”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

This was a really great find with the heritage trail that is typically the Tower of London and Tower Bridge right on the doorstep and yet also really close to the 'City' business district. It is kind of tucked away yet has a great open feel to it with a spacious atrium and great bar - 'Sky Lounge' on the top floor with some great views. Loved the atmosphere which was well balanced with mixture of business and tourist clientele. Room rate wasn't cheap but was good value for London and Food in the restaurant was very tasty, varied and good value. If you not want to use the hotel restaurant there is a plentiful supply of pubs and eateries round about - you won't go hungry! Staff were also really friendly

Room Tip: Because of the location there didn't seem to be any noisy areas which is what I always look to a...

Smart, well-presented hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Great location, close to the Tower of London and the City. We used it as a base to visit our daughter and to see the Matisse Cut-Outs show at the Tate Modern, and the Veronese at the National Gallery. Highly recommended.

This was our second stay at the Double Tree in Tower Hill. We had a very pleasant young lady checking us in (with the cookies of course) and when there was a problem with the credit card machine we were upgraded to a slightly better room, where, as far as I could tell the only difference was the addition of bathrobes. Still, it was a nice gesture.

We know the area around the hotel quite well, so went out for dinner at Bodeans (book, or be prepared to wait) where the pulled pork really is excellent. There are also several other eating options, as well as some good pubs.

On our return we had a quick drink in the Natural Kitchen where we found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. We then headed up to the Skylounge, which really does have one of the best views in London. The drinks are superb but do cost a bit, so just sign the bill and try not to look too closely at the total!

We had no complaints about the hotel at all (although if you are travelling with lots of luggage you may find the standard rooms a little small). However there are cheaper options in London and some people may find the location slightly too far from the centre, but we look forward to our next stay here.

This hotel was such a nice surprise. Clean and newly built. Good and simple design. Apple computers in all rooms. Food in restaurant was good. Service helpful and friendly.
Good shopping in nearby vicinity. Easy access to West End by tube.
Definitely worth staying at this end of town and secure this nice hotel compared to grotty London hotels in turist hot spots.

From the moment we arrived we were pleased we had picked this hotel. Warm welcome and warm cookies! Room wasnt ready so they put a call in to housekeeping to prioritise it, and took our mobile number so they could call when it was ready. We had an atrium suite which included access to the exec lounge which was great, from 5.30 to 8.30 every night they had complimentary wine and beer, with nibbles. Breakfast also served there in the morning which was a bit more relaxed than the main breakfast buffet. Suite was quite minimalist, which isnt really our taste but it was fine. Great facilities in the room, kettle, fridge with free minibar items, bathrobes. Great modern bathroom with seperate shower and plentiful high quality bath products. Around the corner from the tower of london and lots of great restaurants within 10 minutes walk. All in all a great hotel with some of the best customer service i have experienced at a hotel? Only slight let down was the bed was quite hard, which was surprising as hilton beds are usually heavenly!

As the name makes clear, the hotel is very close to the tower of London. It's a great location for both tourists and business travelers (well, depending on where your meetings are), and it's a short walk to a tube station.

I only stayed one night, but had a good night's sleep in a well appointed, quiet room. The room looked like it had been renovated fairly recently.

I barely stayed long enough to take advantage of any services, but the staff encountered were all friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were very speedy and efficient, and the concierge provided helpful directions on how to walk to dinner.

The Doubletree is a reasonable value for the quality and location of the hotel. My actual preference is the Andaz (nicer hotel in my opinion and close to our offices), but it costs almost twice as much! As long as rates show such a disparity, I would be happy staying at the Doubletree again.

the room is very clean and simple, all that you need, however, the room is very dehydrating , i woke up three times because coughing at midnight and lips drying out, the receptionists were generally welcome ( when you checked in ), but when we asked for help later, you will be asked your room number first. Obviously, we treat customers depending on what type of room you can afford. and what I do not like their service is also they try to sell more service when u check in, so do not surprise when you find breakfast is not included after paying £130 for a simple room.

Dear 'Jiachen C'

We're really sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction from this stay.

Please may I ask you to contact our hotel switchboard number (0207 709 1000) and ask for Amy in the Executive Office? I can then put you in touch with our Front of House Manager Ioana, who would welcome an opportunity to resolve your concerns and to personally apologise for any misunderstanding that has happened.

Thank you and once again we are sorry you had left our hotel feeling this way.

Kind regards
