We stayed for one night at the Doubletree by Hilton near to the Tower of London and were so pleased with it. The foyer of the hotel is amazing and has plenty of space including a place to have a coffee or a light lunch. Check in was fast and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We received a free room upgrade giving us a room with a view - and wow was it great. The room overlooked the Tower of London and had a great view of the Shard.

The room was fantastic and very spacious for a London hotel. It had lots of facilities including an iMac, wireless Internet, a mini-bar, hairdryer etc. We were really impressed with the design of the rooms and comfort.

The bed was really comfortable and it was quiet throughout the night - meaning a great night's sleep. The only thing that is not included is breakfast and we found this to be very expensive if you wanted to add it on. However, there is a Pret A Manger just around the corner that serves a great breakfast for a fraction of the price so we really did not mind.

Overall, a great hotel that we would highly recommend. They really do have customer service sorted here and the rooms are comfortable.

Location was perfect, next to the tube station on the Victoria line. The reception staff were friendly and even got a warm chocolate cookie on arrival. The room was on the 7th floor and huge. We arrived late back and had a drink in the bar, really good view on London by night. The breakfast was excellant. In all would stay again and really top quality hotel

Room Tip: Didn't use the pool or gym.

My family and boyfriend booked this hotel for my 21st. The two of us stayed in one of the atrium suites - it was fantastic. It was my first weekend break in London and I loved every moment of it. The hotel was in such a great location - central to everything but lovely in the evenings as it was away from the busy nightlife. It was lovely going for a walk around tower hill during the evening.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful - their customer service was impeccable. The suite was out of this world with amazing facilities and several complimentary services. We were really looked after. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and I think that we would revisit again and again. The skylounge is worth a visit too - the cocktails were amazing.

The only advice is go to breakfast early if you're going to have it at the hotel. It got really busy after around 9. Although, we did go during bank holiday weekend so obviously it was expected to be extremely busy.

Overall, it was one of the best stays I've had in a hotel. I was sad to leave and will visit again. Perfect for seeing all of London and getting back easily. Brilliant.

Room Tip: Go to breakfast early

From the minute we walked in the revolving door to the lobby, we felt most welcome. The front staff are extremely professional and friendly. We were attended to immediately. We had one or two requests, which were handled expeditiously and well above our expectations. The welcoming attitude of the staff that we encountered continued throughout our stay. Our room was everything that I have come to expect from a Hilton property and more. I am a Hilton Gold member. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to London.

Very nice staff, excellent location (around the corner there's Tower Hill station), clean and cozy room, quiet, gorgeous view from the rooftop (12th floor), which we were invited from the receptionist to go see. The combination TV/Internet works great. Complimentary water in the room. We were not impressed by the restaurant but it's just a matter of taste... Anyway, nearby there are plenty of places where to eat for cheap (as cheap as it can be in London).

If I could give a hotel 6 stars, this would be it! I've stayed at Double Tree Hilton's before, am a long time Hilton Honors member and familiar with their general standards. My wife and I were blown away by the attention to detail, the extra perks and additions in the rooms, breakfast included in the rate, outstanding food and beverage, modern facilities, by London standards, with an international staff and many languages at their command so that no one need feel "left out" if English was not their first language. It was an odd choice for a vacation (9 days,) but it was out of the traffic snarl of central London, close to the river and the embankment and Tower Hill Tube Station so in reality not far from anything. We had a choice of an Atrium view room, but chose a King Suite (#755) that had a view between Trinity House (which is currently under renovation) and Novatel looking right out to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. If we felt at all lacking in a view, the 12th floor glass enclosed SkyLounge provided 360 degree views of the London skyline, not to mention food and drink, or just afternoon tea. City Cafe, the main restaurant, offered a full, tasty and filling buffet breakfast in the mornings included in the room rate. It was closed for lunch while we were there, but that was available at the Natural Kitchen, accessible from the hotel lobby and although independent, Hilton guests could sign checks to their rooms on presentation of the Hilton room key folders (not just the room key) to the waiter. Or snacks were available in the Lobby Bar, or room service for that matter. Several restaurants were within a few minutes walk or a Starbucks for those hooked on their latte's. Dinner's at City Cafe were an epicurean delight and a treat. Great, attentive service, delectable food and an uncomplicated, but encompassing menu for all tastes. So...convenient, modern, great food, and service, absolute attention to detail and something they call CARE ( Create a Rewarding Experience). But now to the rooms themselves. We could have left all our toiletries at home, as everything you could think of was provided. Full sized bath towels, trendy Crabtree & Evelyn soaps, body lotions, creams, bath gels, bath robes and slippers, razors, shave creams, repair kits, shampoos, hair dryer, conditioners and more, in room safe, iron/ironing board, stocked mini bar (included included in the rate), kettle to make coffee and/or tea, with supplies, wrap around floor to ceiling windows which could be opened to allow air flow. Separate glass-enclosed shower, and full tub with flexible shower head, toilets set for water conservation, separate powder room, living room, desk, dual voltage sockets 110/240V, three Apple Mac computers with key boards/mouse, on which one can surf the internet, do work on - also double as TV's offering a full range of channels, including, apart from the regular UK channels - French, Italian, Spanish and German stations - radio as well and and additional DVD player, free WiFi in the rooms and hotel areas, comfortable beds, Independent thermostat controls for heating (and cooling - VIP in UK/Europe, not known for air-conditioning). Perhaps If I were truly nit-picking, a magnifying shaving mirror might be something they could include in the bathroom. The rooms are quiet and the hotel off the major thoroughfare of the A100 highway which runs by Tower of London. And all of this begins with a complimentary freshly baked chocolate chip cookie after registration. What more could one ask for? Eco friendly, possibly? Yep, Already taken care of.

Room Tip: Corner rooms like 755 / 756 offer a lovely view - of course depending on what you want to pay.

I would like to thank everyone who works at Double Tree. Our stay was just wonderful. They were just great, the front desk hosts kept my son in a steady supply of cookies. Every time he walked in (or out on our early morning days) he was given a fresh cookie. They were wonderful in bringing extra towels, pillows and comforters. They even supplied us with bathrobes upon request. My only complaint (and this is not service fault) is the soap they supply completely dried up our skin (no moisturizer). The hotel is about a 2 minute walk to the Tower Hill Underground Station. We did not eat in the hotel as every night we took the tube to Knightsbridge exit and ran to Harrods for fresh pastries and what not. I did go to the bar one night and ran outside for a lovely photo (it was about 26F so to cold to really enjoy the outside area). With out a doubt I would stay at this hotel again and tell my friends to do the same.
