The Churchill war rooms is so well maintained you are instantly transported back to WWII. The audio guide is clear and easy to follow, the dramatised readings from memoirs and meeting minutes gives the listener an accurate sound world to accompany the physical one they are viewing. It also very entertaining and is an excellent educational tool. The war rooms should be preserved so as to educate people in the future about a very important time in our history. It is also throughly British and a great tourist attraction. I would recommend it for all.

Great insight on Churchill's command and control centre during the WWII.
One of the best theme museums I have ever seen.

This is a unique museum, which takes you back to the time of the second world war. You see how we an island race dealt with the might of the German forces. Waiting for next grandchild to become of age to visit and understand. David.

Like most London museums it's not cheap at GBP17 per person, but was an interesting way to kill a couple of hours and learn a little along the way. The museum is really split into two parts. Firstly the "rooms" which have retained their original furnishings and equipment, and then the Churchill exhibition. The exhibition was really quite fantastic, lots of knowledge to be gained and many artefacts / Churchill's personal possessions to view.

Coming from Canada we had already visited our own Diefenbunker and we were interested to compare the two. The main difference is that the Diefenbunker was never used while the War Rooms were used extensively, visitors are guided through the underground bunkers using audio guides, you can also visit the Churchill Museum, I much preferred the Diefenbunker because we had an actual guide, I did learn a lot about Churchill and the history of WW2.
