This is really like two hotels in one. There are the expensive rooms, which are on the small side with really tiny bathrooms. The one we were in looked a bit worn. Then there are the really expensive rooms which are a good size have a lovely bathroom with a jet tub and look recently renovated. The location is good, and the rooms are quiet. But I think there are better values to be had.

Room Tip: Spend the extra bucks to get the upgraded rooms.

This hotel had generous sized rooms (by London standards) and the location was outstanding only minutes from the South Kensington stop on the Picadilly Line and right across the road from the V&A museum. You are also surrounded by gorgeous buildings and excellent eateries.
After travelling around Europe experiencing very average buffet breakfasts and wi-fi connections it was such a relief to have a decent breakfast and excellent internet.
Tried the high tea at the bar/restaurant which was very nice and good value.
We left our bags for the day as we had a late flight and I even left a gift for a friend living in London to collect from reception and it was there when he went to collect it - outstanding service.

The only thing which would be good would be a gym that can be accessed for free.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway with my wife and it turned out to be a great choice.
The Rembrandt is a traditional good old fashioned English hotel located in Knightsbridge just across from the V&A, a short walk from Harrods and with easy public transport communications to the rest of London.
The polite and efficient front desk staff checked us in quickly, and we found our way to our room on the top (6th) floor. It was large, clean, cosy and comfortable with a perfect view over the V&A and Hyde Park. The bed was a genuine king size and the bathroom was well equipped with both bath and shower. However, we found out later that we had been upgraded at no extra charge (I had pre-warned them that it was my wife's birthday) so, full marks for customer service, but note this wasn't a standard room.
Breakfast was fine, but nothing special. Some fresh fruit and more variety would have been good but no serious complaints. The bar area was comfortable but the service wasn't great, and, just like the rest of the public areas, it appeared a little tired and worn. A tasteful refurbishment would make a huge difference.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Rembrandt again. Of course it depends on what you want to do, but for shopping, museums and the Albert Hall, Hyde Park and general sightseeing, the location is difficult to beat. It looks very much like the rooms vary in standard though, so we will be careful to find a way of getting a superior room. Rooms at the front have the most interesting view, but go for a high floor to get the best view and aviod any traffic noise.

Room Tip: Top floor at the front. Fabulous view. If an upgrade is possible, go for it as room standard and siz...

Nice room, though there seemed to be a short in the bathroom light switch, and the cleaning crew had moved, and disconnected the t.v. Good location for the museums. Good breakfasts.

Just got back from a two night stay, this is my 3rd stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. It is situatated right accross from the V&A and along the road from Harrods. All the staff were friendly and helpfull plus the room was lovely. We had a twin superior room which we paid approx £180 each for two nights so not cheap but not over the top for a major city four star hotel and you do get what you pay for. One little problem was the bathroom extractor fan didn't work but that would not put me off. The bed was lovely and comfortable. This is definatley not the last time I will stay here.

We stayed at the Rembrandt for a weekend break.

The location was perfect, across the road from the museums and a short walk to South Kensington tube station.

After reading some reviews I was worried about the size of the room, however although not huge this did not cause any problems. Iron, hairdryers and tea making facilities supplied. Rooms also have a safe and mini bar which we did not use.

The breakfast buffet was very good and was the perfect start for a day exploring London.

Overall we had a fantastic break and this will be the first hotel I check availability for when back in London.
