“Excellent location”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for our annual trip to Wimbledon. Location was excellent near to Gloucester St Tube Station. The room was comfortable but on the small side, had to squeeze between the bed and the desk and chair. It was spotlessly clean with a nice shower room which was adequate for our needs. Fortunately it was not too warm at night because their was no air/conditioning. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was excellent (we had full English ) their was plenty of choice at the buffet, tea was plentiful the waiter would always make you an extra pot of tea. All in all we had a very comfortable 2 night stay and would certainly stay again.

The hotel is situated close to Gloucester Road underground station. I had an overnight stay when in London on business. The building traditional in style and seems to have been recently decorated. My single room was very small but the fittings and finishes were high quality and the bed was very comfortable, though there was no air conditioning. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was so small that I had to sit sideways on the toilet- no room for legs in front! The English breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. The staff were very professional and overall my feeling of the place was that it is well-managed with considerable attention to detail- shame about the toilet, though! I consider the hotel to be excellent value for money especially in comparison with some others at the same price. I would stay again.

Room Tip: Be aware rooms are small.

Historical hotel, lovely breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Room was small but typical for London; however, we were on the 5th floor, where it was very quiet and room recently renovated so it was ALL good. Comfortable beds and good-sized bathroom with tub and shower. Large living room on the main floor with a bar was a good place to hang out. Very convenient to tube, hop on, hop off buses, Palace, Harrods, museums, etc.
Best of all was the price! We were all very satisfied and would recommend without hesitation.

Room Tip: Mid to high probably better than low floors

Booked this through last minute secret hotels and got a very Good deal Stayed here on a Sunday night for a business meeting in London the next day.
Checked in at the time advertised for check in but room wasn't ready, was a bit of a pain as we had to be in north London and was wanting to freshen up, went away for a bite to eat and came back an hour later, was told to take a seat in the bar and were kept waiting another 15 mins, finally Managed to get into our small but adequate room which was very clean.

The hotel itself is nice and finished well but I feel they have crammed too many rooms in to maximise cost making moving around our room a little awkward. . I had a first floor room The bed was hard, bathroom was small but the shower was excellent I can see why people like it, but London has far better hotels to offer. Given what I paid I can't complain but I had I not got a deal would have been very disappointed,

Room Tip: Unless you get a discounted rate, look elsewhere!

Room Tip: Phone ahead if arriving around the official check in time to make sure your room is ready.

Ideal location for exploring london, very clean and well presented. Staff very helpful and friendly. On the downside our double room was far too small and the bathroom was even smaller, especially shower cubicle, which needed a shower caddy or something as could not bend down to pick up shampoo/shower gel without banging your head!! Would stay here again as convenient, but ensure got a bigger room.

Stayed here for one night as we needed something near the V&A museum. I picked this one as it was convenient, we had stayed in other Grange hotels and it has a bit of history, being the former home of the Queen Mum's father. Its a nice cozy, quiet (mostly) historical and friendly hotel. We didn't eat there as we were out and about on the Saturday evening and i don't eat much in the way of breakfast (that's expensive but to be expected in London). The bar/lounge area was quiet comfortable and welcoming though and the drinks were not as expensive as I thought they may be. Our room was ok, spacious but we were in the servants quarters - no view except of the passageway under the front door and the pavement above. Can't complain though as we were only there one night and had near enough all we needed (we could have done with a shoe shine and a bath mat but that's being picky). We were woken up at 5.30 am with some noise going on which sounded like bottles being thrown about outside. All in all though it was a very comfortable experience.
