“A Wagon-lits cabin with a view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

I have booked a single room for 5 nights in this hotel as part of a conference event packet.
Location, service, politeness are certainly good features of this hotel but the 3 x 2 metres of the single ensuite room (toilet and shower included) seemed to me otrageous!
Apart from the smallest closet I have ever seen (with room for a couple of brooms), great part of my clothes had to remain inside the suitcase ... on the floor.
I believe double or twin bedded rooms are better, but the single room offer is totally out of market out of japanese capsule hotels.
Plus , well, minus, WiFi connection is NOT for free, payment is in advance and while checking in I was obliged to pre-authorise a charge of £20 on credit card for bar and room services, even if I was sure I would have not make use of.

My WL-cabin-like-room had a nice view on nearby gardens.
My personal view of the hotel is: Never Again.

Stayed here on a Sunday night for a visit to The Albert Hall, which is within easy walking distance and also near to Gloucester Road tube station. We had asked if we could drop our luggage off before the booking in time and that was no problem but when we returned to register at 2pm our room wasn't ready - check in from 3pm! Room with ensuite shower room was clean and comfortable but compact - good selection of toiletries and teas /coffees. I requested a quiet room on booking and was given a room on the second floor overlooking the green, it would have been quiet if the room had better soundproofing and we hadn't got a nocturnal guest in the room next door. We had hardly any sleep as the neighbouring guest was receiving phone calls on his mobile throughout the night, he was so loud we could have joined in the conversations!!! but within a few seconds of finishing each call, snoring !! Breakfast - luckily the continental option was included in our room price, if you are not so fortunate - there are many eating places within a couple of minutes walk. Staff a credit to the hotel - all were polite and helpful.

Had a 2 night weekend break in London, last weekend!
Love London and all its delights.
Booked hotel on booking.com, a double room.

Its in a fantstic location, kensington, a 2 min walk to Gloucester Road Tube station.
Hotel room was way too small, could barely swing a cat in the room, although bathroom had a bacth and was v nice and clean.
We didnt have breakfast or dinner there so couldnt comment, although i thought staff could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly( they took our passport details which has never happened to me before!).
Room was clean and quiet but it was too small, but great location.
Would have to say that when going back to London, would avoidf this Hotel and go to one of its many neighbouring hotels in the vicinity!

Really nice hotel ideally situated for all attractions. The hotel is spotlessly clean and has a lovely residents bar which stayed open untill late. The staff couldnt do enough for you and were very friendly. The only negative would be the size of the rooms. Ok if you were staing one or two nights and have light luggage but wouldnt want to stay any longer with a large suitcase due to cluttering of room due to its size. The rooms are very clean and a big plus was sky sports one, two & three all available at no extra cost. One night cost £65 with secret hotels.

Got a room here on a deals site, and mistakenly booked a twin. Phoned up to ask to change to a double and it was going to cost £75 to upgrade so I didn't bother. However, when we arrived we'd been automatically given a double which was great customer service. The room was small but really well decorated and very quiet. Shower was amazing! The staff were so helpful and friendly and the location is great.

The single bedroom was in the basement and small but it was quite nice. It has a good location, a short walk from Gloucester Rd tube station. I couldn't find any way to adjust the temperature. The continental breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel on a room only basis.
On arrival I was met by excellent and helpful staff who continued in that vein.
My Booking was for a small single room and it was certainly that. Definitely the smallest room I have ever stayed in and on a square foot basis it is delivering quite a return!
I am certainly not tall and I dread to think how a heavy six feet plus person would manage. The toilet/shower is a marvel of planning to fit in such a space.
I didn't see any of the other rooms and so cannot comment on other sizes.

My advice is check the room size before you go because otherwise it is extremely well located with excellent staff.

Room Tip: Check the room size before you confirm
