Stayed here as a family of five mid summer 2010, the location is perfect for exploring the Victoria and Albert, the Natural History and Science museums all within a lovely walk of this hotel, The underground station and a variety of shops and eateries are only a short walk away. The hotel itself would appeal to the traveller who enjoys staying in buildings of historical and architectural significance which have retained the character, style and features of its original build, Our room and facilities were very comfortable and clean for two adults and three children under 12. The staff were most helpful and attentive, simply loved the ambience and style of this townhouse.

I stayed one night at the Grange Strathmore for a business trip on a late deal (room only) in a single room. The only downside I can think of us that the single room was absolutely tiny (no room for a desk and they had to be pretty creative with stacking furniture on top of each other, and even putting plug sockets in sideways!) but apart from that it was very nicely furnished, modern, and great if you just want a bed for the night. Plus a big bonus was that it seemed pretty quiet as it is on a side street just round the corner from Gloucester Road tube. I've previously stayed at the Radisson Vanderbilt round the corner and the Grange Strathmore was much nicer. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful too. Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat any meals there, but the lounge/bar was very beautifully dove as well. Would definitely consider staying here again if I could get the same deal.

We found it easy to get all over London from this very nice South Kensington location. This is a fine place to stay if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel. Our room was very small and the closet door only opened half way. Everything else was in working order and comfortable enough. Breakfast was included, which was nice, but the food wasn't very appetizing. The staff was friendly and we didn't have any problems, but this is not a luxurious or overly comfortable hotel.

I stayed here on business for a week as my usual hotel was full up. I arrived in a huff because I like my regular hotel. Trip Advisor ( my constant travel companion ) had put me off with some of the comments too.

Upon arrival reception staff were helpful and polite. The put me in a quiet room which I had asked for in advance. Consierge service is also very efficient and helpful.

My room was unexpectedly nice. Very recently refurbished to a high standard, new carpets, curtains, beds, bathroom fittings etc. Not a very big room though and when staying for 7 nights there's not much space to put clothes etc. It was a living out of suitcase experience. Towels were changed every day probably because there was no where to hang them to dry.

The bed was very comfortable.

For the person who couldn't find the hairdryer, it was in the drawer as it normally is !!!

The top 3 floors have been renovated and they are working their way down, should be very smart when the reception rooms are finished

Breakfast was an unusual sit down service with buffet continental. Quite nice with everything you would need and good service.

Nice quiet location with great access to Gloucester Rd Tube.

Picked up a room on comparison site and proved real value for money.

The room had been recently decorated, and they were clearly working their way through the building.

Some of the rooms are on the smaller size, but very comfortable.

Continental breakfast was included which was very good.

Service in hotel was good - room for improvement with the "Trainee Receptionist" - but otherwise good.

Will return if attending another event at the Royal Albert Hall.

I stayed here for business and this was the cheapest and closest for my purposes.

On the positive side the hotel is in a good location, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel decor was very tired and this continued in my room. My single room was very small, and I hardly had room to walk around the room. As I was only there for one night, this wasn't a great problem, but it didn't represent good value for money. I had a glass of wine in the bar, which was both expensive and not to my taste, and might of been opened slightly to long. I was going tp have breakfast until I saw the cost, £15 for a continental, and £20 if you wanted a cooked breakfast. Again, poor value.

I also had to complain about the state of the wiring of the plug on the hairdryer, which was unsafe. I reported to reception on check-out, and they said they would fix it, but as I was checking out, I don't know if they did.

Room Tip: Single rooms are very small, so try an get a double if possible.
