I booked this through a "secret" hotel and stumbled upon a bargain. A lovely hotel right next door to the tube station at Russell Square. The hotel and staff were lovely, polite and welcoming and allowed me to book in earlier than the advertised booking in time. The bed was comfortable and I had a very sound nights sleep and was happy that no external London noise got past the windows. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice and very helpful staff. Across from the hotel is a little shopping centre with a Boots that I used to get blister plasters

Stayed here on a business trip for one night. The hotel is only a stone's throw from Russell Square tube and very well situated for the West End. There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The front of the hotel is very quiet as it's situated in what appears to be a private street. The staff were extremely courteous and welcoming. Decent room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast could have been a little better for the money, but that's a very small gripe.

This holiday inn is ideal for central London but the rooms are very small and basic even by HI standards, carpet in room was stained, helping to a bit of a 'run down' feeling. Breakfast was fine. Staff very helpful and friendly. Cheap car park very near.

Have currently kept me waiting about an hour because my room wasn't ready - I arrived at 2:15, not esoecially early. I am sitting in the lobby writing this. If this wasn't a buiness trip that was pre-paid I would have walked out by now...

This hotel is quite simply excellent. The staff are lovely, friendly and attentive from the first moment at check in, through every aspect of our stay and to the point at which we checked out, including the storing of our bags. For visiting it is an excellent location, being close to Kings Cross and with Russell Square tube literally round the corner. I have no hesitation in recommending it whatever the reason for your stay.

Used the hotel due to its location relatively close to the West End. The room was clean and moderately sized (considering the location / price), however the bathroom was tiny. The bathroom was disappointingly small and if I stayed again (and I would) I would upgrade to the Executive room to ensure more comfort.

We ate in the Bar for lunch and the food was fine (pretty standard for a hotel chain)

If you want to be within walking distance of some of Londons best attractions and close to Euston Station (Virgin Trains), the Piccadilly Line (cheapest way to Heathrow) and have a good size shopping complex, including supermarket next door, this hotel is a good bet. It is also close to the Unversity of London (main adminsitration and University College) if you have need to visit. Holiday Inn doesnt pretend to be 5 star but this hotel is typical for the brand in that it provides very adequate accommodation at a reasonable price. Even some 5 star hotels i have stayed at in London have small rooms so paying more won't necessarily overcome that issue. As for places to eat and drink well there are so many choices close by if you dont fancy the in house offerings. Central London is a non stop noisy place which rivals central Manhattan for police, ambulance and fire sirens so this hotel is in a relatively quiet location a bit off the main road.
