I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights whilst attending a concent in Hyde park. The location was excellent, about 5 mins walk from paddington station, tube line at the end of the road, Hyde park/Kensington gardens 2 mins away. Around the corner was plenty of pubs and eateries. The room we stayed in was substantially bigger than any other London hotel room we have stayed in before - it included a bedroom area and a sofa within a living area with tv. The hotel was exceptionally clean and could not be faulted at all in this regard. Very friendly staff whom seemed eager to satisfy. Thrown in with the very reasonable price was a full English breakfast, also including cereal and toast with jam or marmalade. Around the area you would expect pay about £5 just for the full English so this was excellent! The rooms were also cleaned daily and we were happy to know that our belongings were safe in the hotel room as we were required to hand our keys in before leaving the hotel - these were later easily obtained through the 24hr reception. The only potential downside would be that the shower leaked, but that is expected to some degree considering a shower curtain was used. Would definitely recommend - had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay here again.

We were 2 adults and kids of age 6 and 1,5 visiting this hotel for 6 nights on june-july, and liked it. Breakfast was good quality, hotel was clean and everything went well. Hotel is pretty old like most of them in London but fine condition etc.. If you have trouble sleeping in hotels you might want to ask not to be near the elevator since its sounds could be heard pretty well on our rooms, but it didnt bother us that much. Other than that, well worth every penny. Location is also very good.

Room Tip: Try asking not to sleep near the elevator, the sounds may be heard to room.

Fellow Aussie receptionist cheerfully checked us in after having a previous guest abuse her for having to pay up front/ we booked online in Aussie and prepaid and got an excellent rate-.good communication and confirmation of booking via email on booking too - We only needed 3 nights and we found The Mitre excellent for location to see all the main sights of London. We set off early each morning after eating an appetizing cooked breakfast (served by smiley, friendly kitchen staff) -then returned each day to a lovely warm room, a decent hot shower and sleep in a comfortable clean bed. Great value and location - close to Paddington train Station and convenience shops and nice restaurants - I would stay here again. The Negatives- the little place where you can store your luggage after check out is more like a cupboard and not very secure-when you exit the lift into hallway leading towhere the breakfast is located -smells damp and old - and the male conciage on the reception desk came across as a typical pompous English man he was very unhelpful and was very bossy to the other Russian receptionist who was trying to organise a taxi for us - otherwise no complaints- Hotel is wonderful

Me and my wife had tickets for the ICC Champions Trophy. We made Paddington our base and chose Mitre House Hotel as our accommodation, we were not disappointed. The location was near to two underground(subway) stations and the Paddington Rail Station which provided a straight journey to Cardiff, Wales for one of the cricket matches. The reception , restaurant and the household staff were very courteous and helpful, The internet rate of 85 Pounds per night which included a hearty breakfast was great value for money, compared to the other hotels in the vicinity, The actual room was great, for London, and comfortable too. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend this hotel.

Great location close to Paddington Station and excellent restaurants. The room was small, but clean and had all the necessary basics. Breakfast was a full English breakfast and a great way to start the day. The reception staff willingly gave advice on local restaurants, attractions, etc. and the hotel was in a safe area. Overall great value for the money!

Ideal location for base camp. Fantastic value like for like, rooms are basic but plenty of hot water, toilet rolls etc etc. As a 2 night stay we didn't ask for room service, towels and extra soap left outside our door. Reception staff were so so helpful, advice , have a nice day etc etc .Breakfast is basic and will not excite your taste buds, but remember package cost. Some staff do not speak fluent English, but are keen to remain customer focussed .We had rear facing rooms, no noise outside and not disturbed by other guests. So handy to leave our luggage in a safe keeping lobby where you are given baggage receipts that are checked when you collect. Finally we borrowed an extension lead, cleaning staff alerted reception staff that this may have been left behind. Thank you, if visiting again would look to rebook.

Room Tip: I have scored rooms as average, but had a good nights sleep, the area is quiet

This hotel is conveniently located between the Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate Station, less than 5 minutes walk, making it very accesible to move around in London. Also a stone's throw away to Hyde Park - step right into the Italian Garden in front of the Lancaster Gate Station. Lots of coffee places and eateries around it as well.

The staff were nice enough to allow us to leave our luggage despite arriving way too early to check in. And they made a lovely effort to allow is to check in earlier than the usual time - much appreciated as we were a litlle jet lagged then.

Breakfast is decent, served daily between 7am-9am. Can't complain for the decent price we paid for the room ad brekkie - 95 pounds, but could have been better if they served fresh tomatoes/mushrooms vs the canned variety. They are very generous with their toast and juice though.

Rooms are a tad bit small - even for two tiny sized asians - but then again, in London, unless you're paying (over the) top prices, it's quite the norm. We spent most of the day out and about anyway.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
