“Extremely small rooms”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Good location, but extremely (!) small rooms. However, good value for the little money I paid. Okay breakfast included in price but the dining room was quite crowded and not very charming. It took 30-40 minutes to walk to Oxford street.

was a normal hotel the rooms were tidy and the food was nice it had tv and cupboard it was cleaned regulary the only thing that bothered mr and my family was the toilet the light made an annoying buzzing sound but other than that everything was fine i would reccomend this to couples and small families.

Room Tip: the rooms by the lifts i knew they bothered people.

Not a very nice hotel. No charm at all and not very good service or rather no service. WIFI only in certain rooms apparently.

Due to a missed flight connection I lost my reservation at my original hotel, and ended up here.
Being in Baywater, I had low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised! The room was perfect for my needs (clean and close in) the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was very nicely serviced each morning. Breakfast was plentiful, and a nice variety for a 'quick start' (I prefer a full breakfast a little later in the morning, but this was just what I needed first thing). Couldn't figure out the heat, but I'm sure that could have been resolved had I inquired. Very pleased! (oops! No pool so disregard that !!!)

Room Tip: There is a LIFT!!!

We booked this 'hotel' for a 2 day stay in November, based on the fact it was relatively cheap and a great location. The fact that it was great starts and ends with the location as everything else was worse than sub standard. On arrival we were told we had to pay a £20 deposit, which was fine although there had been no mention of this beforehand. We were given our room key (B09, if youre given this room, ask for another!) and told which way our room was. The lift was a little grotty and the toilets that we passed in the hall had an awful stench, although luckily they were situated far enough away from our room. The room itself was very small, although for us this wasn't a problem in the slightest as we weren't planning on spending too much time there anyway. At a glance the room was pretty clean, the bed sheets were fresh on and were changed daily, however there was hair on and in the sink and the glass in the bathroom was slightly dirty. The room was also very hot and we couldn't work the heater properly, so we opened the window and as we were in the 'basement' our view was a grotty patio area for the use of the room next door... Definitely not the 'views' you see on the website. Our first night was dreadful after we were woken up at 4am by the people next door to us shouting and just generally being very loud. My partner went to speak to the receptionist who said he'd make a call to the room and ask them to keep it down. It didn't work. After another visit to reception we found the guy asleep on the sofa and he said he'd go down and have a word with them. We didn't get back to sleep until 6.30am.. Fabulous! Our second night was as bad as the first. As our room window was next to the patio area for next door, them being directly outside of our window singing, shouting and smoking (making our room stink) it made for another late night after a failed attempt to call reception from the phone in the room, as it didn't work and yet another trekk up the stairs to ask for him to get them to keep the noise down. We asked to speak to the manager to make a complaint but was told he was not in and they were leaving anyway. Not even slightly good enough. We didn't try the breakfast.. If the look and treatment of the hotel staff was anything to go by, we weren't missing out on anything.
The wifi in the hotel is also rather annoying, you can only use it in the reception area and it costs £3 for an hour.. The signal is terrible too. I would not reccommend this hotel, but I guess you get what you pay for. It's deffo worth spending just a little extra for somewhere else. Even a travelodge would be a tonne better. The only consolation is the location, it can't be faulted, and bayswater is nice too. Very touristy. There's also a cycle hire area about 100 yards from the door of the 'hotel', although hostel would be more fitting.
