“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

I have stayed in this hotel for 4 days in October. Check in was quite quick at 1pm and my room exceeded my expectations. I reserved single basic room type, but it was more than ok for 4 days. They cleaned my room everyday and breakfast was fine; continental breakfast with cereals every morning. The hotel was very close to tube station and safe on evenings. The hotel personnel was very kind, provided me with all the map, necessary information for touristic places and I even bought some attraction tickets for cheaper prices at hotel Reception. So, I enjoyed my overall stay at the Hotel in general. I would definitely recommend this hotel for everyone who does not wish to spend a lot of money.

I am struggling to write a review about the Pembridge - it's a hotel - it's in London - it's close to Hyde Park and Bayswater Tube Station. It's not totally awful but it's really not got a lot else going for it. When we were there it felt like a cross between a backpackers hostel and a youth club - it's a very mixed bag of guests.
The reception staff are there - it's obviously just a job for them and they are not particularly friendly or helpful. The rooms are a fair size and clean(ish) - but there are marks on the skirting boards and walls, dust in the corners etc - but on the surface it's generally clean - the same goes for the bathroom - it's had a wipe over but I'd not want to blue light it.
The worse thing is the breakfast - this is an awful free for all buffet in the depressing basement restaurant - watered down orange, a few slices of sliced bread toasted and obvious catering cans of mixed fruit, jam etc - again the walls show the residue of many breakfasts.
It was cheap, it was central but I'll not be going back in a hurry - if you can afford a little more - try somewhere else.

Room Tip: Not sure there would be much difference.

If you want a cheapish place to stay for one or two nights this will do.
Its clean and the staff are polite.
However, the hotel appears to be used primarily by young overseas visitors and as such there was a lot of noise overnight.
The breakfast is awful - the hotel website shows nice crusty french bread - the reality is a plate of white sliced. Some cheese, tomato and boiled eggs. Cereal and watered down orange juice.
All in all - it does a job - but I wouldn't use it again.
Oh - nearly forgot - they also took a £20 deposit on check-in! I got it back no probem, but it shows the type of hotel this is - or more likely, the type of clientele it attracts.

Room Tip: Find one in a different hotel

The receptionist didnot know what he was doing. We were here on business and had several rooms booked. One of our party had to go up two flights of stairs to her bathroom, another was in a bay window as his room. The breakfast was appalling. The beds were as hard as rocks, the walls so thin I heard the person nextdoor snoring, it felt as though they were in my room. When we returned to the hotel at 10.30 pm it was swarming with foreign students, nowhere for other residents to sit and enjoy a coffee if we wanted to. There was dust all over the woodwork, hairs attached to the wall in the bathroom. When I made a coffee in my room in the moring there was a sludge left at the bottom of the cup, this was not milk as I had it black. I would not reccommend this hell hole to my worst enemy.

Watch out for the hidden cost at reception having to pay for soiled towels that we certainly did not recognize. Not happy to pay more money, but what can you do? Good location, clean in our room, breaks was quite reasonable.

unfriendly reception, bad beds, poor breakfast, the only positiv thing is the location , only a five-minutes walk from the underground and kensington gardens.

Really poor hotel, lots of things wrong, too many to mention them all
Avoid room b2 at all costs if possible
Squeaky bed springs, really noisy as right next to breakfast room, tiniest sink I have ever come across, couldn't even get the kettle in to fill it up!
Breakfast is a joke
Avoid if you can
