“Fab location and Good Facilities”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in a twin for 5 nights during the lead up to the triathlon world champs. The hotel was overrun with triathletes, triathletes bikes and related equipment. The hotel seemed to take it all in their stride. Room was comfortable, well equipped (if not a little hot at night) and clean. Breakfast had a great choice, flexible opening for the triathletes and plenty of space. Ate in the hotel twice at night. The butternut squash pie and mash is divine! The attached pub is ok, a little lifeless but a decent size and less formal. The hotel is v close to Gloucester Rd tube, with Waitrose, Tesco express, and lots of places to eat nearby. A 15-20 minute walk and you're near to the Natural History Museum, V&A museum and some great eateries Nr to Sth Kensington tube. Some fab artisan foodie shops too. 10 minutes further is Hyde Park. Overall a very decent hotel, with lots on its doorstep.

Just next to the tube station, a fine hotel in a good location in the heart of London. 5 minutes train to The west end center, the hotel situated in a great position to explore London for a good price.

We found our room very small even by European standards. We had two twin beds, the bath was very limited, the carpet worn and the windows were very dirty, We spent three nights there, and should have tried for a new hotel. Desk staff did not seem to know what they were doing. We gave them a credit card and they charged 50 pounds to it as a test and it took well over a week to have it removed.
My biggest complaint was the high cost to access he internet. This practice is rather primitive in the UK and in staying 14 nights throughout the UK this was the only hotel to charge.
The plus side include convenient Underground access and numerous restaurants in the area.

I wish I could say more positive things about this Holiday Inn but sorry I can't.

Room Tip: Plan for Internet Access elsewhere. Ask for a Queen but they may not be available

We stayed for just one night, the rooms and bathrooms are clean but on the small side of sizes, tea and coffe available in the room, bed is not very soft but comfortable. Reception night shift staff was not very friendly!

A nice hotel , room are clean but it is a bit a factory with so many people on the breakfast and dinner room. Centrally located , close to underground ideal for a night sleep but easier to go and and have dinner in other local restaurant . The room are relatively small althought confortable and convenient. A high located room certainly give a panoramic view of London but hope you are not afraid of the hights

Check-in was long-winded, a little frustrating and not that welcoming in a very busy and quite overwhelming reception area. When I finally got to my room I found the iron and board missing, which I really needed to iron a shirt for a dinner appointment I was running late for (made worse by the slow check-in).
Tried ringing reception with no success, tried housekeeping with no success, and then FINALLY got through to reception who sent one up, 10 minutes later.
Nice enough bedroom, great view (through VERY dirty windows) and comfortable bed. Tiny bathroom with hardly any water pressure (on floor 12... what must floor 25 be like??!!) and a hairy bath and tiles (dirty housekeeping!!).
Unfortunately a fellow guest somewhere in the hotel decided to smoke in their room setting off the fire alarm at 3.30am, and I struggled to get back off to sleep afterwards, which meant I was very tired for my conference on Wednesday.
Budget hotels often offer free Wi-Fi and I think this hotel ought to also. I think its cheeky to expect guest to pay extra for this.
Didn't try the breakfast, but I can imagine that was as chaotic as the reception always seemed to be.
Received a smile from the receptionist at check-out, but that's all. No other conversation.
I left with the feeling that the hotel was too large, with inadequate staffing to cope with high occupancy levels. I didn't feel like a valued guest, or that I really wanted to return.

I've just returned from my fifth stay at this hotel and it continues to deliver good value all around. First about location: you are 1 block from the Gloucester Rd tube station which has 3 lines through it with great connection to the entire system. There are numerous restaurants/pubs within a 3 block radius and a large Waitrose supermarket less than a block away from the hotel. And an easy 15 minute walk will take you to Earl's Court or So Kensington for even more choices. Next the hotel is huge with a variety of room choices. For the last 2 stays we chose the suite for the extra space and have been quite satisfied. The suite is a large bedroom with a nice size "parlor" room separate. There is a large entry room which is great for storing your luggage and a large bathroom area with 2 separate rooms separating bath/shower area and toilet area each with their own sink and storage spaces. And there is additionally a separate space which I will call the "work desk". The price for this (and including breakfast) is a really good value for London. Expensive, yes but overpriced, no. Our past experience with rooms here were that they were just fine but a tad small for our American preferences. Breakfast is served in a huge room on the first floor and is all buffet. Great selection of warm and cold foods and including an omelett station. Well worth the additional charge when added into your room rate. The hotel is always busy with airline crews on layover as it is very easy to get to with a direct route to Heathrow. Sound proofing is very good here and we found the beds to be quite comfortable as well. Can't speak to the business facilities as haven't needed to use them. Hotel has 27 stories so many rooms come with expansive views over the city. This is our hotel when in London.
