“Great location and a good night's sleep!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

I stayed here for 5 nights for work, and was really pleased with my choice of hotel. As a pregnant woman staying on my own, I didn't feel uncomfortable at any point during my stay and the staff were really helpful at check-in and check-out. I had a double room which was large by London standards, the bathroom was very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't use the pool or spa, but found the rest of the hotel was great. The location is perfect and not far to walk from restaurants or the tube station. If staying in London again, I would definitely use the Holiday Inn Kensington.

Stayed here for a Friday / Saturday London break.
Everything was fine in what must be one of the tallest buildings in the area [its 27 storeys high]. The rooms were clean, though not very spacious. Very near to Gloucester Road tube station and excellent local facilities.

We had a wonderful experience here. The front desk was very courteous and responsive. Our check-in was hassle free and quick. The rooms were clean, though not very spacious. But they were compact enough for two of us. The room service was good and the breakfast was filling :) Gloucestor Road tube station is 3 minutes walk which is a huge plus. Some major eateries like Starbucks, McDonalds, Burger King, etc. are within walkable distance. One trait that specifically stands out in my memory is the hotel's response time. During our 3rd night, a fire alarm wrongly went off and the hotel was evacuated within 5-7 minutes. And, they ensured that we were back to our rooms, after thorough inspection of the hotel for any flaws, in 20 minutes flat! My mom was mighty impressed....reason enough for me to visit again! :)

We recently stayed here again, this time for my 30th birthday. Again, we were very happy with the service received, getting an upgrade to the 27th floor and a complimentary bottle of wine after informing the hotel of the reason for the trip. The hotel is conveniently located close to the museums, Royal Albert Hall and the Gloucester Road tube station. There is also an onsite parking facility charged at £33 for 24 hours.

I stayed here on a recent business trip for a single night and booked online through the Holiday Inn website. I thought the £140 per night was not too bad. The check in was pretty painless as I have a loyalty card. I go to my room and as I did the fire alarm went off as there was a problem 3 rooms along the corridor. Full scale evacuation and the fire brigade in attendance. I went to one of the local pubs for a drink and then returned. My room was clean and comfortable and a good size. My objections were that they wanted £16 for 24 hours internet access. I asked downstairs in the restaurant if the access was free down there but again no the same charge. So i went to a local pub, The Hereford Arms for some nice cheap food and FREE internet access. All in all I didnt spend a lot of time in the hotel but it looks very nice. Breakfast was extra £16, so again a trip to the Pret a Manger in the morning to save money. Overall a nice hotel but once you add all the extras on that I think should be included in the price it is too expensive. If these had been included I would have spent more time in the hotel and used their restaurant.

Dear tramway2,

Thank you for your comments regarding your most recent stay with us. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused by the full evacuation. However the safety and security of our guest is our utmost paramount and we take the evacuation very seriously and, unfortunately as per the guideline set out by the London fire department, the hotel needs to be evacuated. We sincerely hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.
With kind regards

This is a comfortable hotel, clean, well located for Kensington and Knightsbridge. Mainly full of coach parties in London for shows at the weekend. Good views from higher floors. Excellent varied breakfast, bar/coffee shop. Choice of soft or hard pillows, comfy beds. Staff attend to needs well.

Room Tip: Views from high floors. Railway line to one side.
