The goos points were, very efficient reception and concierge, greeting by door staff as you walk in, great location for knightsbridge shops, impressive decor and good breakfast. The down side was the room was had was very small. When we first arrived we were upgraded to a superior room, which was great but it turned out to be a twin and we wanted a double. When we went back down to reception we were changed to a 'lovely double room' (room 687) which turned out to be tiny. We were only staying one night so we just lived with it. The bathroom was a good size in fairness but there was not enough space in the room to swing a cat !! I would have given five starts but for the room so my advise would be to avoid room 687 and to ask the size of the room before you book or at least a check in.

Room Tip: Beware some rooms are very small (we stayed in 687 which was tiny)

Stayed for 1 night on a "2 Theatre" trip so didn't have time to capitalise on the convenient location of this hotel. The V&A, Natural History & Science Museums are within walking distance, as is Harrods. The tube station and a good choice of various eateries and shops are a stone's throw away. We were very impressed on entering the beautifully furnished, huge foyer. Check in was quick - handing out room keys to 50 coach travellers was no mean feat and was handled most efficiently by welcoming staff.
The bedroom was a good size. We were a little concerned about road noise but it seemed to die down after midnight and we slept very well in comfortable beds. The only gripe was the lack of lighting in the bedroom. One bedside lamp is NOT enough ..... had we been staying longer I would have requested more lighting. Reception was informed on check out, though. Lighting in the bathroom was good but there was no shaving/make-up magnifying mirror.
Breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot and cold food to suit all tastes and how nice it was to see a gluten free section.
I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is down the side of the road next to Gloucester Road Tube station and is close to a Tesco Extra, Nandos and other restaurants. Convenient little spot when you consider it is within walking distance of Natural History Museum, V&A and if your good on your feet Harrods. You can be at Marble Arch for Oxford Street or Green Park for Bond Street all within a few stops on the Tube.

Perfectly safe area at night - is always busy.

The Hotel is A-typical of its type - business traveller hotel, polite and helpful staff, busy with other guests and the rooms were large and comfortable. My only slight complaint - the pillows in the bed were a bit hard and not very comfortable.

I stayed here for a works trip and would do again provided I could find a great deal for it!

Dear Chippyqueen,

We are very grateful for your kind comments regarding your stay at the Millennium Gloucester hotel.

About the pillows, there should be soft and hard ones in the room, I apologise if this was not the case. We have also different types of pillow such as aromatherapy and wheat available on request from our Housekeeping.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Great location, across street from Gloucester Road tube station and bus stops.
We were pleased with the room, spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Be sure to ask to see room before checking in. Ask for club room on fifth floor and above.
David at the concierge desk was wonderful. Very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend the hotel and kudos to David.

Room Tip: Club rooms on fifth floor or higher. Room 503 was nice.

Stayed here for one night. Impressive large foyer , which gives the impression of a large informal hotel. Did not use the concierge services.

Check in was efficient and quick. I did notice that the air conditioning was not working in the room. I was told that this would be fixed after returning to the hotel later . It wasn't.

Changed rooms from a double room. To a triple room (3single beds). Grime on the sink :(

Breakfast was good.

Would I stay here again? Yes , great location for the tube and earls court. I'd make sure it was on a deal though.

Thank you for your review!

I apologise for the shortfall in service regarding the air conditioning in the first room and the sink on the second room. We strive for excellence and these are not examples of our usual high standards.

On a positive note, thank you for your very positive comments about the lobby, reception and breakfast.

Just arrived home after spending a weekend in this hotel and i cant wait to go back. The hotel couldn't be located in a better position for visitors to London. Gloucester Road tube station is just around the corner from this hotel which is also on the Piccadilly line, so it's easy to get to the West End, Covent Garden and Leicester Square. The hotel staff were exceptional and couldn't be faulted with their customer service. It didn't matter who or what we asked, nothing was too much trouble for them. Everyone was polite and very pleasant. The rooms were so clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and there was something to suit everyones taste. I'm an exceptionally fussy person and i pay close attention to detail but i was so impressed with this hotel that i emailed the manager on my return to express my pleasure with the excellent customer service we received.

What a convenient hotel situated a stones throw from the tube station and in the thick of one of the best parts of London. Clean, spacious reception, lovely receptionist who was welcoming and friendly, nice room that was comfortable, quiet and clean. Room service was great, fast and the food was delicious. Breakfast was fine from a culinary point of view and our table waiter was great, fast and friendly.

All in all, I would have normally rated this as a 5 out of 5 experience. However two overbearing members of staff just got it wrong.

I was in a rush and brought my pull along carry-on bags into breakfast (where there was a ton of space around the tables) and was instructed - yes instructed - to take the bags to the desk for storage by the jumped up restaurant manager. If I had not been in company I would just have left - outrageous, impolite and aggressive.

The second experience was the previous evening in the bar where I was with a large group (spending good money) and the bar staff kept ordering us around as apparently we were blocking their way. Really unhelpful and it just seemed like the staff would rather we were not there. For clarity we were not noisy, or in any way being difficult - my US friends were just shocked by how we were being treated.

Never had an experience like this in any hotel anywhere. Surprised and very disappointed.

Hotel management - you need to get these folks on a customer service course.

Dear ODonnell-Stephen,

Thank you very much for your review!

I was very disappointed to learn about these two incidents that spoiled your stay, especially because we met your expectations in all other areas.

I passed your feedback to the relevant departments. Rest assured that the hotel management has discussed and addressed these incidents with the teams and further training has been scheduled in addition to our ongoing programs. Please accept and extend my sincere apologies to your US friends.

On a positive note, I am glad that the rest of the stay was enjoyable.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Yours sincerely,
