This hotel is in a fantastic location, just 2 minutes walk from Leicester Square, yet down a small enough side street that we weren't bothered at all by noise.

All areas, both public and our room and bathroom, were spotlessly clean. Beautiful bedding, a nearly 7ft wide bed, reasonably spacious and a lovely bathroom. The hotel has obviously just been renovated as everywhere looks very new. The staff are professional and helpful.

Recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great central location.

Room Tip: Worth going for the executive room for the huge bed.

Dear WouldLikeToBeT…

Thank you for your positive review it was great to read how much you enjoyed the stay.

I was delighted that you took advantage of an upgrade to an executive room with the super king-size bed. It was also pleasing that you mentioned the professional service of the staff who I know will really appreciate the kind comment.

Thank you once again for the feedback.

Kindest regards

Perfect location... just a couple of minutes from Trafalgar square.

However, the hotel is in a side street, quite let done. Quite small, but service is reasonable good and the hotel room is quite large for a London hotel.

Don't expect any high class touches and/or friendliness of service.

We stayed here for one night whilst seeing a westend show. This hotel is in a great location - the theatres, covent garden, leicester square, embankment and trafalger square all only a stroll away. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Room was very clean and had everything you could need. Would definately use this hotel again!

My wife and I stayed here last minute on business during the Olympics and were pleasantly surprised. As exiled Londoners we wouldn't ordinarily stay in this area as it's very touristy. However the location is great if you are visiting the City and want something central for sights and convenient for restaurants and bars around Haymarket. But the most impressive thing was how quiet and hidden away it felt bearing in mind this location. It seemed far from the madding crowds! The hotel itself was as we were expecting - modern, clean, efficient and a bit faceless - but the staff were all superb, particularly Veronika at front desk. The upgraded room won't win any design awards but it was contemporary, clean, perfectly laid out and a good size. It also had a superb bed although no minibar or fridge. My only real gripe was the breakfast - an additional £10 per head for very poor food. I'd definitely recommend finding a proper cafe nearby in the morning where you'd get twice as good for half as much. Or just go to Pret or Eat. But this is a small issue. We'd stay here again if we ever need a hotel in central London, especially at the discounted rate we got with Late Rooms. Well done Thistle.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an executive room if you can.
