“Pleasant hotel with nice pool”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Arrived early and was offered immediate occupancy of an upgraded room for an extra £10 which we were happy to accept. Our booking offer also gave us a choice of free upgrade, breakfast or bottle of wine - we opted for the breakfast.
The upgraded room was very clean but not huge. I imagine standard rooms must be tiny. Bath/shower tap had bits missing but this did not affect functionality. Carpet was threadbare in places but the other soft furnishings were fine. Bed was very comfortable unlike the pillows.
Lovely pool - nice and warm. Changing rooms could have benefited from a blast of air freshener & the shower control was just balanced on & fell off in use. Steam room was out of order & sauna temperature was only slightly warmer than at the poolside. Great pity.
A fantastic range of breakfast buffet items on offer and included variety of fresh and conserved fruits (loved the green figs!), cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, cereals, breads & pastries as well as the traditional cooked items. Sadly another hotel offering "flask" coffee which was unpleasant but was kindly replaced with a pot of tea but this was barely warm! I gave up & stayed with juice.
We were looking forward to our post-theatre nightcap but sadly the lovely Bar 120 was closed and there wasn't a seat to be had in the CoMotion foyer bar, and the adjoining dining area was blocked off so we had to settle on a cup of tea in our room.
The hotel is quite a trek from the tube and the surrounding area is a bit grim with few facilities.
On a positive note all the staff we encountered: Reception, Concierge, Leisure Centre, Restaurant, Cleaner were all extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.

The sauna and swiming pool are what I liked the most about this place Along with the staff who were very friendly and outging. dispite this the rooms are a bit pick and mix as to how nice they are and as depnding on what building you are in... Thats right it's 2 buildings.

The food is good like you would expect and alow not bad prices for a hotel it is still too expencive considering that it is sourounded by places you can pick a good meal up for halfthe price and not in the best location in my opinion

Room Tip: When you book you room make double sure you are staying in building 1, I can’t emphasize this enough

stayed here in march whilst going to see mama mia with friends. after arriving early- before 11am i was told my room was not ready yet. this i expected and the staff explained it perfectly to me. i was told i could leave my bag in the storage and the concierge on duty was extremley helpful, giving me instructions on how to get around london and the easiest ways to get to all the attractions. so off i trollied around london for a bit come back around 12:30 room was still not ready. staff apoligised again to me and i apreciated it but they never asked if i wanted to upgrade to a double room which was availble untill i asked about this myself. i then upgraded my room at a resonable price.

A long way to say - happy with the hotel and the staff but slightly dissapointed with the lack of upselling through out the hotel both at the bar and reception.

Room Tip: take breakfast if offered its worth it.

The hotel is nice, clean and tidy and I got a great last minute rate but the spoiler was the pillows. They are the foam type that you cannot squash down to the size that suits. I know this may sound petty but ultimately a hotel is there for sleeping and both of us woke with sore necks and didn't have a great night. There were spares but they were the same.

Other than that the room was a good size, the bathroom nice, the bed comfortable and the bar was pleasant for a nightcap.

Only other thing to be aware of is that its about a 10 minute walk for the tube. Not a huge problem but if you are using it for a trip to the central stuff its a factor.

Fancy reception area but it has budget rooms which could do with an overhaul but it's cheap and the breakfast is plentiful. The staff are very friendly and the location is handy for the city, it's a reasonable place to stay on a work venture but I wouldn't book in for a holiday.

Nice hotel, friendly and polite staff. Location was perfect for us for this trip but some people may find it too far from the main attractions. Only negative was having to wait 1/2 hour for a sandwich at the bar when there was nobody else there!
