Arrived at Tower Hotel with friends for 2 nights. We had booked with Superbreaks so felt the price we paid was quite good. Check in was no problem and the reception is bright, modern and spacious. Our bags were taken upstairs for us which was a nice touch.
One of our rooms faced the Thames the other room faced out to St Katherines Dock, both views were great. The rooms were a good size. I felt they were very slightly tired but I'm being a bit picky. The safe in one of our rooms did not work properly and neither room had a fridge which we really would have liked.
The breakfast was really nice. A good choice with lovely sausages! Both breakfast restaurants were spacious. We went down slightly later so it wasn't busy but I think it was busier earlier.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, reception were happy to print out an email for us.
The hotel sits at the foot of Tower Bridge and is only 5 mins walk from the underground. There is a Tesco Metro just round the corner. There are restaurants and pubs just behind the hotel.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel and it's always great! Beautiful view of the bridge from our room. Shame the windows don't open but that's a minor gripe.
Staff are friendly and happy to help.
Breakfast is always very busy but there are 2 areas so you shouldn't have to wait much longer than 5 minutes (and it's a very good breakfast!).
Would recommend!

Room Tip: Ask for one with a bridge view

We booked a exc room as you also get completely parking.

Well what can I say.. all the hotel staff were great and all carried a smile.
The exc rooms are all on the 5th floor and we had a lovely view of the bridge. The rooms were
Nicely decorated. There was a kettle, coffee machine, completely mini bar, iron, 32 inch tv, music player, under floor heating in the bathroom, robes and slippers.

We could of had a continental breakfast in the private lounge just for the 5th floor rooms, but decided to go down stairs for a full English breakfast. Although very busy did not have to wait to be seated. The food was hot and tasty
Would I go again. Definitely!

I booked my stay at the hotel as part of a package and hoped that I wouldn't be disappointed with the pre-selected choice, especially as it's a large hotel. I need not have worried that The Tower would be soulless, from the moment we arrived, the stay was excellent. Our room wasn't ready (we were early) so the receptionist took us for complimentary drinks and snacks at the Club Executive lounge - what an impressive welcome! As the trip was to celebrate my birthday, a further extra touch was a gift from the Guest Relations Tean of wine, chocolates and a hand-written card - this was customer care at its best! The view of Tower Bridge from our was spectacular and being sited next to such iconic London landmarks and very close to Tower Hill underground station makes the hotel a fantastic base for sightseeing. We ate our evening meal in the hotel and the quality and service was outstanding. Breakfast was also excellent and we left the hotel with no hesitation to recommend it and would love to return,

Room Tip: There are no fridges on the 4th floor. Ask for a room with a view of the Thames.

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
I’m delighted to read you had such an excellent stay at the Tower Hotel for your birthday. I’ve shared your kind comments with the Front Office team who were thrilled to know just how impressed you were. It’s also great that your meal in the Brasserie was outstanding as well as breakfast the next morning.
Thanks for recommending us; we’re looking forward to seeing you soon.
Kind regards
Billy

We were given a two night stay here as a wedding present for part of our honeymoon and were really looking forward to our stay but whilst the view of Tower Bridge was absolutely incredible the room we were initially allocated was absolutely dreadful. How any hotel, but particularly one of supposedly such high status, and charging such high prices, could ever think it was an appropriate room to allocate to anyone, I have no idea - the bathroom wall tiles were cracked and dirty; the bathroom floor tiles were cracked and dirty; the bathroom fitments were stained and dripping rust; the window frames were cracked; the right hand wardrobe door was faulty and didn't open; the left hand wardrobe door fittings were broken and it was hanging off at the bottom.
When we complained to reception we were immediately given an upgrade to an executive room which was much cleaner and had obviously been fairly recently refurbished, however, even that was faulty - for the first night there was no cold water in the bathroom and even the toilet flushed with hot water; the air conditioning didn't work and the room was far too hot; the much highlighted Nespresso machine was broken; the TV couldn't get BBC 1 and even the attendant sent up to fix it couldn't work it out.
The breakfast on Saturday morning was average but there were not enough staff so it took over 10 minutes just to get a refill of coffee. Sunday morning's breakfast was very poor - the main dining room had been closed as it was being set up for Mother's Day lunches and so we were directed to a function room across the foyer for breakfast - there were not enough tables and guests had to queue; there were not enough staff so that they were rushed and pressured, (the girl pouring our coffee wasn't even looking at what she was doing and splashed coffee into the saucer and onto the table cloth); and the eggs and sausages and gone cold in the serving dishes.
The view we had of Tower Bridge was fabulous but in no way made up for the faulty rooms, the poor service and the mediocre food.

Room Tip: Windows aren't double glazed so higher rooms have less noise from outside - we were on the 5th f...

The hotel was lovely with fantastic views!
Pros - Location, View, Price, Comfy, Facilities.
Cons - The staff hadn't prepared for the package we had booked and we had to remind them several times about what was included.
Widows, As they are not double Glazed.

Room Tip: Dont Pay for a better view room untill you have seen the room you have been given

Lovely hotel although really ugly on the outside, great once inside. Booked a twin room, asked to change to a double at reception - no problem. Got to the room - it was a twin. Rang Reception who sent someone up with a key to another room so very easily sorted. Staff were polite and helpful. Therefore I saw the view out of two sides of the hotel and they were both good! Ended up looking over the Tower. V nice but quite noisy. Nice selection for breakfast - fried eggs a nice touch. Hope to visit again.

Room Tip: 466 over the quay 480 over the Tower
