From the outside, this is the ugliest hotel I’ve ever seen. It’s a classic example of concrete, brutalist architecture, and it blights its historic and beautiful location. This isn’t helped by flaking paint and varnish on the outside of many window frames.
The upside is that it’s in a perfect location for visiting The Tower of London and Tower Bridge, and there are some great restaurants easily accessible on the other side of the river (for example, Pont de la Tour and Cantina.)
From the inside, it’s OK. Generally, everything was as you’d expect for a reasonable, city center international hotel. Our room was small (admittedly we had a downgrade because the previous guest for the room we’d booked hadn’t checked out), but our room had a fantastic view over the Thames and Tower Bridge.More
