“Good for sightseeing in the City of London”
Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

Just up the road from Monument and across the street from Leadenhall Market. It is central for all the City of London sights. A warm welcome, some ideas for local places to eat a clean room at the back of the hotel - nice and quiet - just what was needed. Good deals to be had at weekends although we were there on a Thursday night it was still competitively price for where we wanted to be. Would certainly consider using them again.

Staff are incredibly friendly, it's very close to monument station, room was spacious, and room service from Gaucho was delicious. Only downside is the lack of bath in each bathroom, but then the rates are great so it's a happy compromise. The current refurbishments had no impact on my stay at all, and the free Internet was a major bonus.

1. you can lost your self doing your way to the room, its like a maze...
2. rooms are small, comfort, nice and clean
3. good service
4. Gaucho Restaurant, poor and awful - their "Continental break fast" is so poor = one kind of cheese, no cucumbers, small slices of bread, no eggs
5. service was good

Cracking location at great value both for the weekend special rates and the business rate for the week.

Comfy bed and a great shower, the two most important factors for me and this ticked both boxes.

Breakfast at the Gaucho was cooked to order with proper black pudding.

Polite smart staff.

The hotel is due for a refurb which is due especially the Fenchurch suite.

A good one to have in your armoury for value in the City.

Check out their St Paul's branch which has been renovated if you ant be further west.

stayed here recently and not happy should have been told there were refurbishments going on before we booked the room, if i had known would not have booked it, the lift was a pain to use, staff were accommodating to an extent, but would not recommend at the moment to stay because the refurbishments were a disappoint them, so i can recommend you not to stay until the refurbishments etc, have been completed ,

Nice hotel in a great location.

Stayed at the weekend. Very good standard and a good price.

Location is perfect for Borough market (for some really good food on a Saturday) and seeing the sights of central London.

Nice room, very good standard bathroom and shower. You could even tell the bed sheets were a good quality cotton.

Highly Recommended for the location and the price.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in August; the hotel was undergoing renovation so the side entrance was being used as a main entrance. This was no hassle at all and the staff where very helpful and friendly.

Check in time was perfect as we have an early theatre show to go to – hotel was accommodating with early check in.

Location was ideal for the tubes and close to many attractions like the Tower of London.

The rooms where very spacious and clean and tidy.

We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on the food.

Would definitely return to stay in this hotel.
