This is a large hotel, but manages your experience as well as any small one. Check in and out is extremely smooth. Breakfast can be very busy and can therefore struggle somewhat, but overall this is a good choice to make.

Just returned from a 3 night weekend break at the Hilton London Metropole. Yes, the hotel is large, but I found everything to my satisfaction. I am Hilton Hhonors member, and will always bring to the attention of the hotel things which are not to my satisfaction. However, on this occasion I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
My room was in the tower, and whilst not as big as the last room I had (located in the West Wing) this room was perfectly adequate. The beds were comfortable and clean, as was the room, if a little on the small side. The bathroom was modern and clean, with towels and toiletries replaced daily.
As others have stated, there was a large queue for breakfast on one morning out of the three, but I did not consider the wait to be long - about 10 minutes. We were seated quickly and efficiently, and the service was attentive but not overbearing. The breakfast was of an excellent standard, with everything imaginable - all tastes were catered for. There was plenty of food, and things were replenished very quickly as they ran low.
All in all an excellent stay, and I would not hesitate to go back or to recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Rooms in the West Wing appear larger, but the tower has better views

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times during the past 2 years. Booked throuhgh their web site and got a rather competitive rate during low season.

Nothing special about this Hilton. Quite tired and worn but acceptable for a quick stay. The area is packed with arab restaurants and shops so it is a nice interesting option to get to know different parts of multicultural London. 15' walking to Oxford street.
The rooms I had were of different sizes and designs. Some were very small with a single bed (not recommended) but other...superior kings were ok. Bathrooms were very basic and common areas with a standard look, a kind of last century style.
Tv was the only superior thing in there.
The staff were ok, again nothing special. Just ok.
My room rates always included breakfast but I had to queue for more than 35' each time. Always packed, lacking of decent personal attention, stiff waiters and lack of variaty of food.
Have stayed in many Hiltons worldwide and this property is somewhere middle class 3* hotel.

I stayed in the east wing tower, room 1416. The room is old and pretty damaged. The carpet was dirty. The heating didn't work. When I asked for a new room they wanted an extra charge, so I had to ask for the manager. She was then able to help. If you ever book this hotel just ask for the west wing.

Arrived at this hilton and was sorely disappointed , the room we had for a start was in the tower and i can only say was terrible after complaining to the front desk they said they wee fully booked and could not change us , the room had a great view over London if you could see out of the windows for condensation and filth, went to brush my teeth and the cold water run dry , told front desk did not seem interested went to take a shower and was near scalded when the cold water dried up again very very dangerous if it had been a young kid , we were booked in bed and breakfast when we went for breakfast in the morning they said we had to pay for breakfast argued with them about it then we walked away , bought breakfast outside the hotel, next time at the desk and had our conformation with us we challenged them about breakfast they said sorry it was not put into the system properly said they will refund our breakfast, second day went down fir breakfast it was queued along the corridor had a 45min wait for a table, after getting a table total disorganisation we are still waiting on our tea and coffee although we asked for it twice. The head staff were even heard saying this is utter chaos today .
complained again about the room , and the cold water, and they finally moved us to the west wing, a lot better a room more like a hilton hotel, but sorry this hotel does nothing for me certainly would not use this hotel again

Too busy. Too noisy. Everything at a price, even wi-fi! We had breakfast pre-booked but the queue was so long to enter the breakfast lounge that we gave up and canceled breakfast. Instead we had a great breakfast across the street at Pret. The evening we dined at the Hilton lounge but the service was a disaster. The waiter kept pushing us to add something else from the menu, just like a cheap salesman.
