I needed a room close to Earls Court as attending for a show. Read reviews on TripAdvisor and Booking.com which included descriptions such as "boutique hotel". On arrival, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful - and this was true of both days of my stay. But I couldnt have been more disappointed from there on in.

In common with the previous reviewer PeterOakTree who reviewed on 30th October, I also stayed in Room 34.

The room does have a double bed but there is not much room around it. The bathroom is small and suffered from a damaged sink (a fairly substantial spider web crack), a shower tray with chipped porcelain, towels with holes in and a sink so small that you couldn't actually fill the kettle in the room from it rendering the in-room tray completely useless.

Equally, there is a damp and mouldy patch above the window and a patch of peeling paper in the corner above the bed.

Although the staff did keep the room clean, the decor is dated and goves the room a dark worn feeling.

Finally, a small menu for breakfast offers either "beans and bacon" or eggs and toast as cooked options at £4.95. Having asked for scrambled egg on toast, I was provided with a single egg scrambled and placed straight onto a side plate. Otherwise, croissants, coffee, juice and cereal is available on a self-service basis.

Overall, the reception staff made the stay pleasant and the location is very convenient for Earls Court and locale. Free wifi in the room and faiirly competitive pricing just about made the stay bearable but this is a very disappointing hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay at Henley house booked a twin room which was large. Rooms could do with an update but was very clean and a comfortable place to stay. Perfect location the tube is 2 mins away and lots of nice places to eat again 2 mins from the hotel. Breakfast was basic but pleasant would really recommend staying here cheap and cheerful!!

We booked a twin room for 3 nights, with a request to overlook Barkston Gardens. Our room, although well worn, was nice and clean. It was tidy, with a flat-screen TV, and had a sweet little balcony facing the gardens. The reception was manned, from 07:45 to 11:30, with the front-door always locked. We were given a front-door key, but the receptionist generally buzzed us in - I had to sneak up to the door in order to open it myself, so as not to disturb them too much! The girls at reception were at all times pleasent and helpful. On a note of caution however, be prepared to put up with a certain amount of noise from neighbouring rooms, IF you have the misfortune to have inconsiderate people next door, as we did. Breakfast very basic. Lift small but worked.

Now, this is a really good place to stay for a few nights in London. I booked in advance and was really pleased with my choice. Firstly, the hotel is handy yet in a quiet leafy square. The rooms are quiet and the breakfast good. the first night I was there there was an altercation at 3am but we worked out it was in the adjourning property. No such probems the next night. My room was small but adequate with a decent shower. i was on the top floor which meant it was basically quiet and I had a great view over London. the breakfast room was lovely and the whole artmosphere very quiet and soothi\ng. I will come back to this hotel as it was so close to central sights.

Room Tip: any will do as the hotel was in a quiet square

Stayed 7 nights in October 2011 (also stayed a few days last year) and really enjoyed coming home to my little single room. It is London, so the room was small but it was very, very clean, the bed was comfortable, shower a good fit even for a generous body like mine! They have the key to one of those private parks across the street. Although I meant to, I never found the time to go there. Breakfast is basic but more than adequate; with everyone else carrying iPads and iPhones I could access the computer the hotel offers guests (for a fee) anytime I wanted. Staff are very warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. This is now my 'go to' hotel in London.

Room Tip: I like the rooms on the front of the hotel but you do hear people talking and walking in the evening. But the view over the little park is worth it. Earl's Court is a great station and you're just steps away. Great for arriving or leaving from Heathrow on the Piccadilly line.
