My wife and I returned to the Commodore in April, 2013. It had been several years since our last stay. The location is still excellent. The reception staff was very helpful. Cold breakfast, included in the room rate, is good. Our room was quiet, had comfortable beds, an en-suite bathroom with tub/shower, but would benefit from a little refreshing.
My wife uses a slightly larger wheelchair than during our previous stay, and the elevators were too small to accommodate her sitting in it along with my riding in the cab with her. She had to stand, I collapsed the wheelchair, and then the elevator would accommodate both of us. I mention this only because in my previous review I said that the elevator was just large enough for her to use while seated in her (previous) wheelchair.
There are three or four steps at the entry without a handicap ramp, not unexpected throughout Europe, but the staff was very helpful in holding open doors and helping me get my wife to the sidewalk.
We will stay at the Commodore again, but I will ask for a ground floor room based upon my wife's accessibility needs.More
