“If you get it at the right price, not a bad place to stay”

It is very conveniently located to the North Lambeth tube (Bakerloo line, a five minute walk) and several bus lines.

You can't fault the staff that deal with the customers - they were always friendly, customer-focused and willing to help.

The only downside I had here was they say to have fresh towels, leave yours on the floor. I did this, and came back to find they'd just hung up my old towels. I left a note on the used towels the following day and there were fresh towels when I returned.

It felt very American, but this is an American chain. However, they seem to have brought over the American customer service model, and it serves them well.

Biggest piece of advice I'd give to the management is to have someone proofread their signs and menus before posting them. A sign in the lift was offering Chili con Corne with soured cream and the in-room literature says you can get "cue tips" at the desk. I don't think they meant playing pool - they meant Q-Tips which is an American brand of cotton buds.

Room Tip: Some people are put off by the road noise on the street side of the building, but I didn't find...

Handily placed for many tourist attractions, with a Bakerloo line tube nearby. Staff are friendly and the rooms adequate except there is little storage space. We had full breakfast and two dinners which were very good, but sometimes the queues for breakfast were daunting. It really needs some thought to resolve this.

Overall good value, but don't expect to be able to hang more than two garments each!

A good clean hotel with friendly staff, keen to help. Rooms average but full of what you need. Some rooms are on busy main road, so can be noisy, but it is London. Breakfast average, good service. Good location as only 10 minute walk to Big Ben.

The Days Inn on Kennington Road is easy to get to and within easy walking distance of Lambeth North tube Station, near to the sights, bus stops, excellent location and cheapish if you book online, don't just turn up or you will pay over the odds

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front as when we opened out window at the front all we could smell was...

The Days Inn is in an excellent location. Lambeth North tube station is very close by, and Westminster Bridge and the surrounding attractions are an easy 20 minute walk away. The service was fast and efficient throughout.

The room was clean and comfortable, if a little small - it was difficult to sit at the small desk, for example, without banging into a bedside table. The heating in the room consisted of a wall-mounted heater, which worked well, but meant going to bed with the heater either on (in which case the room got too warm) or off (in which case it quickly got cold).

The bathroom was well appointed with a lovely shower, though the water took an oddly long time to reach usable temperature. The ironing room within the hotel was perpetually freezing, and looked in need of redecoration.

The breakfast provided was good, although the choice was limited: only two cereals were on offer, for example, and the range of pastries was limited. This is much as I would expect in a hotel in this price range, but with others (particularly Premier Inn) working hard in this area, I think expectations are perhaps being driven up, and the breakfast provision might need reviewing to compete.

Other very minor niggles include the fact that safes are located in the lobby rather than in the bedrooms, and there were no food or drink vending machines, although there was a well-stocked hotel bar.

All-in-all, a pretty good hotel for the price, complemented by excellent service.

Stayed Sun to Mon in sleety weather. Excellent value for budget hotel, and a step up from Travelodge type stopover. This is a proper hotel, efficient reception and service. Good breakfast choices. Room was on 5th floor, warm, clean & compact, shower room spotless, good size shower cubicle, free wi fi etc. Most rooms are on the front, traffic noise could be an issue, esp. in summer with windows open, but this is unavoidable in a city centre location. Imperial War Museum is almost opposite; view of Shard from front rooms. Well located - bus (159) and tube nearby, and we chose to walk back from Trafalgar Sq - only about 30 mins, past Big Ben. Car park £20 up to 24hrs - which is OK-ish for central London parking (+ congestion charge). Will use again, excellent value and good location for a budget type hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms are on the front, facing main road 50m away. Could be an issue if you're a light slee...

I was worried about the quality of hotels in London at the lower end of the market but as soon as I arrived at Days Waterloo I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness courtesy and modernity at the hotel. ALL of the staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed 3 nights and I will definitely be returning.
