This was our first stay in this Travelodge however, we have stayed in others located around England. We were initially surprised by the way that this building was laid out as it was split in half however, there is a reception and breakfast/dining room in both buildings so they are as convenient as a normal Travelodge. Several people were experiencing difficulties with the automated check-in computers however, we went to the front desk where there was no queue and were allocated a room in no time whatsoever.

We had room number 1232 and it was superb. It had recently been renovated and featured the new style 'Dreamer' mattress, bed linen and spectacular views across London including The Shard (to name one of many that landmark buildings that I could list).

Staying in the heart of London you should expect a degree of noise however, we didn't have a disrupted nights sleep at all. We only paid £45 to stay in this Travelodge for 1 night including breakfast for 2 people and it was in a perfect location and well cleaned and maintained. There was no signs of wear and tear and plenty of towels and complimentary tea/coffee in the room.

The only negative that I would say we experienced was at breakfast, there was one 'conveyor belt' toaster and this periodically got stuck and as the breakfast staff were constantly replenishing breakfast items (which was fantastic to see as nothing ever ran out), they weren't present to unblock the toaster when bread got stuck so we were not able to get a second round of toast for that reason.

Breakfast is exceptionally good value for money with all you can eat and drink for £6.65 (if you buy on-line), it's £1 more if you book it at the Hotel. This is a fraction of what you would expect to pay if you had breakfast in London and the choice is extensive. There's bacon, eggs, tomato, sausage, spreads and jams, bread, pastries and muffins, yogurts, fruit and cereal as well as orange and apple juice and a variety of teas (herbal as well as regular) and normal and decaf coffee.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. It is exceptional value for money if you can get a 'saver rate' bargain like we did!!

The rooms are ok but the experience of staying here was curiously depressing. The reception area was so functional, only one lift worked [in a big hotel] and breakfast was served in the atmosphere of a cheap cafe, although a very nice young man tried to be welcoming.

We stayed in the main Travel Lodge building just across the road from the Drury Lane annexe the staff where very friendly and helpful on reception. The room was clean but tired and the slither of soap provided in the bathroom really was a bit too basic, I can not believe this chain are still providing soap in this way. As the room was on the main road it was really noisy even with the windows closed. I suppose for the central location this is to be expected and it was a cheap deal but it is not somewhere I would stay again.

Dear Skye79 we’re really sorry to hear about the disruption you have been experiencing at our hotel during your stay. Unfortunately due to the central location of the hotel, we cannot always prevent external noise. Although we do not provide toiletries in the rooms, customers have the option to purchase toiletries from vending machines at reception should they need to, this allows us to continue to offer great rates in great locations.

We stayed at the sister travelodge round the corner as we had booked the family room as we were three girls travelling together to do shopping in London and taking in a west end show at night. we stayed two nights and was very satisfied with our stay our room was clean beds were comfy it was warm, staff were very accommodating. plenty of teas and coffees available. Can I just say Jayden on the bar was an absolute delight!! Extremeley friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent service, she had a real good sense of humour and we thoroughly enjoyed our nightcap at the end of the night. This is a very affordable central stay with good breakfast too. Can highly recommend.

My husband and i stayed here in February as we came to London to watch a show and this was the nearest travelodge to the theatre.
We really wasnt expecting anything special as the price was about 80 quid for the night for both of us which in London, I though was an amazing price.
Our room was extremely big and clean, a lovely ensuite bathroom, all very modern facilities.
We came back after the theatre and sat in the bar area and had a drink or two. Were made very welcome and sat there for a good hour or so before going off to our room.
I cannot fault it, the location was excellent, very clean, friendly staff and a bargain price. Will be staying there again when we come back to london for definite.

This hotel is a perfectly fine budget alternative to the luxury hotels all around central London. It's not fancy, but it's bright and comfortable. Remember to bring your own toiletries and working phone.

As usual easy to use booking site with prompt check in at midday. Room was one of the newly refurbished ones, which was good. On the 7th floor, but the room felt very dark; tinted windows, which needed cleaning on the outside. TV worked, but the remote control didn't, so on my way out at 1.00 pm I asked for a new one or new batteries in the existing one. Returned at 6 to find that it still didn't work, so I asked again, but returned after a show at 11 to find that it still didn't work, so gave up asking again. Perhaps I should have just bought a pair of batteries!

Another niggle was no bathmat with only one hand towel and bath towel for two of us. I would have preferred at least two bath towels.

It was a stuffy night in London, so we had the window open for some air, but were kept awake by late night revelers until who knows when, followed by the street cleaners around 5 am and the bin men at 6.30 sharp. I'm just glad that we weren't on a lower floor!

On the plus side it was clean and the location is good with an alright breakfast.

Room Tip: Opt for high up
