Disappointed

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 9, 2019via mobile
Our first time in London!
Booking seemed like we had chosen a great place. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the room had issues. We spoke to the front desk to report there was dirty blankets, stained with god knows what.
Stains in the bathroom doors and the bathroom sink faucet was broken.
The manager himself said oh we will send some one to fix it right away.
As we were leaving to walk around that evening we felt that it was going to fixed once we arrived. Wrong! The next day we did the same, reported and left the hotel a few hours. When we arrived we noticed the door was open and the housekeepers seemed to be going from one room to the next a bit confused. Supposedly our room had been cleaned. Well the bathroom issues remained, the disgusting blankets which I had placed on a corner on the floor were put back in the bed. So gross. To top it off the housekeepers left one of the master keys in our room.
How unsafe, we thought if it was someone else they could easily walk in a room and steal anything. We waited about 15 minutes, the housekeeper never came back. So we ended up looking for her to return her key. She was obviously freaked out once she noticed.
That evening we reported it again but nothing was done.
The next day we left super early and came back late.
We mentioned again to the desk but I don’t think they even understood us. The last day we left extremely early for our flight but spoke to the reception, he was extremely nice, he put everything on a book and said we should get a compensation for the issues that weren’t fixed. I e-mailed the manager, and even when I had photos with times and dates he refused to refund us. I told him he was doing a horrible job representing that Hotel.
So please do some tease arch and save yourself a headache choose a better place that has good customer service. That’s clean and mostly safe to leave your items in.

Dear LiznJay,

I am disappointed to read that your experience with us did not live up to your expectations.

We are very proud in providing a great accommodation and i am sorry to see that there were some issues with the room.

I am very surprised as the room that you were accommodated is one of our best rooms facing the front of the hotel on a higher floor and has been fully refurbished. Everything that is inside that room is brand new.

I am sorry to see that you had a stained duvet on the inside of your duvet cover sheet. I can confirm that it was changed by our housekeeping staff immediately and the bed sheets also.

I would like to assure you that we are servicing the rooms every day and all the linen on the beds is changed. The pillows with the floral pattern are not meant to be put on the floor but i would like to assure you that we are cleaning and hoovering each room daily.

We are an extremely busy hotel, we have been fully booked every day of this month. Being so busy some items break or need to be repaired therefore we always have a maintenance person on site who is willing to help.

The key from your uploaded photo it is not a Master key as is designed/used to activate the room lightning.

Your experience on this occasion is certainly not reflective of our usual high standards of service and I sincerely hope that we will have the chance of demonstrating it in the near future.

Kind Regards,
Ovidiu Hurdubae

Nice and close to Baker Street, Regents Park and Paddington Station. Nice, modern, clean rooms and very friendly gentleman at the front desk. Fairly good choice of food for breakfast in the dining room.

Booked a room with twin beds for 3 nights...... then with the help of Mazher at the front desk, managed to add 2 more nights without changing rooms!!! Found the location quiet but located only a block away from a major street where you find Madam Tussauds and the Royal Academy of Music. Walk a few more blocks and you reach the beautiful Regent's Park renowned for its Rose Gardens, trails, & lots of benches where you can sit and read or people watch or eat a snack. An English breakfast is served in the hotel dining room every morning. However within a 5 -10 minutes walk, there are a large variety of cafes, restaurants, bakeries etc. Enjoy your stay!!!

Very near Baker Street subway stop, which is a major transportation hub in London, which made it easy to visit Windsor Castle, Greenwich and get to the airports. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. Room was small but cheerful, as were the staff we encountered. Would stay again for the value and location!

I booked 4 rooms at the Blandford Hotel for our family of 9 who were in London for a family reunion. We booked 2 executive suites, a twin room and a family room. All The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The bathroom layout was different in each room, some had a shower in the bath, others just a small shower. We had air conditioning in each room, which is rare in London, but very welcome in the heat we experienced the week we were there. A good breakfast every day was available. The rooms are small and not much room around the beds, but that is fairly standard for London inner city. All people that worked at the hotel we helpful and friendly all the time.
The location is amazing, less than a minute walk to Baker St tube Station, Baker St with lots of bus stops, Madame Toussauds and Regents Park across the road. Marylebone high street is about a 3 minute walk away.
