Just stayed here for a few days with my son while we were in London for some soccer games. The hotel is an average Marriott, neither too comfortable nor too shabby. The beds were inconstant (mine was hard as a rock and my son's was squishy) but the room was a decent size and the wifi was consistent. That's what we really needed.

Our rate included breakfast and wifi, which was good because it would have been very expensive otherwise. The location is OK, and is actually not IN London central, but in Swiss Cottage, which is North London. OK for business, but not if you want to get into the City easily. The Swiss Cottage Tube station is about a 5 minute walk, and there are a few fast food joints nearby, along with a Marks & Spencer "mini-market" where you can get some provisions.

We went to Euston Train Terminal (about 15 minutes and £12 for a taxi) and also St. Pancras (another 15-20 minutes and £15), which was OK. To get there by subway would have been very inconvenient since we would have to go into the City and then back out to the train stations.

Finally, the staff were OK, and very welcoming, but still made some mistakes with our details. The concierge was very helpful but, for example, there were no stamps for purchase at the hotel. I'm sorry, but if you are part of an American hotel chain and if your location caters to foreign travelers, wouldn't it make sense to have a handful of overseas postcard and letter stamps on hand? I know everyone uses e-mail and text messaging these days, but still, it seems to me to make sense.

Anyway, overall it was fine for our stay, but I would not recommend it if you are planning on seeing London primarily.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is NOT facing the road. It can be noisy.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for reviewing your recent stay at the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park. Though glad that you found us to be a good hotel, we are disappointed to see that you gave us an average score: our aim is to make each individual’s stay exceptional and we are sorry that your experience with us fell short of this goal.

As you mention, Swiss Cottage underground station on the Jubilee Line is just a short walk away from the hotel, making our location perfect for shoppers, visitors to the city and sports fans alike. From Swiss Cottage station, you can travel directly to the heart of London in just 7 minutes (Bond Street station), with further direct connections to Wembley Stadium, Lord’s Cricket Ground, Baker Street, Buckingham Palace and Westminster, to name but a few. Euston and St Pancras train stations are less than 20 minutes away on the underground, with just one change required for both. In addition, the hive of activity that is Camden Town, the chic shops, cafés and restaurants of Primrose Hill and ZSL London Zoo in Regent's Park are all just a short walk or bus ride away.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the stamps. Although we do not sell stamps in the hotel, our concierge does offer a franking service for guests’ mail and parcels; we apologise if this service was not offered to you. We were also concerned to read your comments regarding the beds as well as the issue with your details. We would be very grateful if you could respond to our private message so that we may investigate both matters in more details.

Thank you again for your valuable comments and feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your son back in the future to make your next stay with us an excellent one.

Kindest regards from the team at the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park

This is a lovely hotel. Being in Swiss Cottage it is a little bit out of town (a cab to the West End costs about £15) but the tube is within a 5 minute walk of the hotel so the attractions of the West End are easliy reached.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and genuinely seemed eager and happy to assist with any request. At check in we were offered mince pies and mulled wine and were given a bottle of water. We had booked a superior double and for once it was. The room, by London standards was palatial, with two kingsize beds, a couple of arm chairs and a small table. The bathroom was small but more than adequate, though the shower wasn't the most invigorating. The beds were very comfortable with memory foam matresses. The room was quite warm, but which hotel room isn't but it did have it's own air conditioning control so we were able to cool it down a bit.

The breakfast is the ubiquitous buffet style and was very good. Alongside the usual sausage and bacon you could order waffles, pancakes and omelttes. There was also a wide range of croissants, pastries, cheeses, fruit and cereal. The bar area is quite small but again the staff were friendly and attentive and the choice of drinks is wide and varied. The hotel isn't particularly luxuious but it is very clean and smart and at under £320 for a 2 night stay very good value. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I don't usually write reviews but thought I should for this hotel because of such fantastic customer service and value.

This was myself and my wife's second stay at this hotel while visiting my daughter who lives in the Camden area. We also visited the theatre and I found the hotel good for both locations.

On the first occasion we we're upgraded to the executive floor which had a very large balcony overlooking the London attractions. Fantastic. The second time we had a standard room which was clean, quiet and had all the amenities you would expect. Comfortable large bed and air conditioning that was quiet and worked properly.

We used the leisure centre and it was pretty busy at the time. I didn't have change for the locker and the attendant had no pound coins in the till. She loaned me a pound from her own purse to ensure my convenience rather than make me wait or go elsewhere. I was impressed with this approach to customer service. Later I locked my room card in the room by mistake. While waiting in a short queue at reception the porter saw me waiting and asked if he could help with anything and then saw me to my room with a master key. Again I was impressed.

Finally we were given a £25 credit which more or less paid for the parking - exceptional value at £127!

Only one downside. I used express checkout and was charged twice in error for the car park. However a short phone call rectified this.

We will be making this our default hotel in London.

Stayed for 2 nights on 12th dec. Its definitely not the best marriott we've have stayed in and is a very ugly looking building. The room was ok, the shower was only luke warm and we couldnt get hot water and the hairdryer cut out every couple of minutes which is a pain when you have long hair, and lastly we asked for a quiet room which it was until 7am when it felt like we were next to someone working in a noisy loading bay.

we did complain to the duty manager who was very apologetic and compensated us and was very polite as were all the staff. Would I stay again? For the good deal we got and in a different room I probably would as it was easy enough to get into central london and the general feel of the hotel and the staff make it a viable option.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front would probably be quieter

Stayed here for a business Xmas meeting and party. Excellent hotel, charming really helpful staff and great food. The hotel was really Christmassy, good car park underneath. If you need to be SJW area this is a great place to stay but if you want central London then not ideal. I really enjoyed the dinner for our evening party. Rooms nice sensible Marriott style with some nice views.
