I have been charged £440 for a broom cupboard. The windows are boarded up see photo. They refused to take my luggage to my room and the Internet doesn't work. Worst value in London. If tourists think this hotel represents my country - I'm embarrassed.

Dear Andy B

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor following your stay with us at Le Méridien Piccadilly.

May I offer my sincere apologies for your dissatisfaction with your recent experience during your stay at the hotel. Our guests are our upmost priority and we strive to ensure that every guest has a very enjoyable time at the hotel.

The bedrooms may differ in size and shape as they do in most historic landmark hotels in Central London. We would be delighted to assist you in allocating a spacious room on your next visit. Feel free to contact me directly for your next reservation.

Due to unforeseen circumstances an internet cable to the Hotel was damaged by external road works in Air Street, therefore, causing an outage in our internet supply. Our internet cable provider did their utmost to have the internet restored as soon as possible. In the meantime, our IT Department activated the Wi-Fi internet, this was slightly slow, for which we are sorry.

Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us, we look forward to welcoming you again to Le Méridien Piccadilly on your future visits to London.

Yours sincerely

This was our second visit to Le Meridien Piccadilly as it is a great location to see the sights of London and seldom have the need for a taxi or the tube. You will be in easy walking distance to most theaters and good resturants. Big Red Bus stop is across street and Piccadilly Circus is only a block away. It is a managable walk to the London Eye, Parliment, changing of the guard barracks, Westminister Abby, Buckingham Palace and many other sites. Our room was on the 9th floor wit a view of the roof next door but did not complain as we were tot there for the views. Resturant and bar are good with excellent service - no real interaction with guest services. All in all a clean spacious room and a very good stay of three nights.

Le Méridien Piccadilly’s fantastic location is indeed within the heart of London and so is very well placed for business and tourism with many of the most famous theatres and major attractions a stone's throw away. It was very pleasing that you enjoyed your visit to the Terrace Grill & Bar as well as appreciating the service provided.

Thank you again for your review and we do hope that you will continue to make many more enjoyable visits to Le Méridien Piccadilly. We very much look forward to seeing you again soon.

When you stay at a Le Meridien property in any country in the world, you know what to expect. That is why you stay there. True, each hotel has its own flair, but you can rest assured nothing will take you by surprise (in a bad way). The Piccadilly location falls right in line with expectations of decor, location, service and amenities. Our room was humongous, which was actually rather unexpected. I like that these properties are modern, but accessibly so. Not too cold, more transitional.
And a delightful surprise was the craft cocktail menu at the Longitude bar. Ignacio the bartender was really fun to talk to and of course knows his craft cocktails. He is no amateur. :)
The concierge made a last minute dinner reservation for us at a nearby restaurant too which was lovely. It is a fairly busy hotel but nothing seemed chaotic, maybe because everything is nicely spread out. The lobby smells fantastic because they are always burning the special Le Meridien scented candle...that I keep forgetting to buy!

The hotel is superbly situated on Piccadilly, but once inside, there is an aura of calm. We were warmly welcomed at Reception, and time was taken to explain the various features and facilities. As members of the Starwood Preferred Guest group, we were delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade and also to find a bottle of sauvignon blanc chilling in an ice bucket waiting for us in our suite.
The room was well-lit and very quiet, and the bathroom was spotless, with fluffy towels and robes and a waterfall shower.
The bed was supremely comfortable with plenty of bedlinen and pillows so you could make it exactly to your taste.
We will certainly stay here again.

We come here every once and a while when there's a good show in London.
Since it was partially refurnished, there are truly some pros and unfortunately cons.

The top 3 pros:
1. Friendliness of service. Reception was just perfect and we got a beautiful upgrade as SPG Gold members.
2. Location. Just off Leicester square, 5 minutes from Covent Garden, theaters, etc., you couldn't be much more central.
3. Comfort. The rooms are OK, great comfortable beds, globally quiet considering the noise of the street.

The worst cons:
1. The "new bar" would loose any contest whether it had to do with elegance, comfort or taste. I felt as if we were in the chicken class backroom of some crappy joint. Uncomfortable plastic chairs and hard cheap plastic hard banquettes, down in the basement. Unacceptable for this type of quality hotel. Avoid it, especially if you have a date!
2. The price. I don't mind paying a high price for high standards, and London is known not to come cheap. However if a hotel wants to play it grand, then the business center, lounge, breakfast etc should be in line. Unfortunately, these amenities are in line with an average tourist hotel and not a higher end hotel which the Meridien tries to promote.

Dear Loverly4u2

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Le Méridien Piccadilly and for taking the time to post your feedback on TripAdvisor.

It was good to read that you on the whole you had an enjoyable stay with us and that you appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the associates especially at our Front Office. I have shared your kind comments with all of them. I was also delighted that you enjoyed the Hotel’s amazing location in the Heart of London, it is indeed well placed for business and tourist.
The Longitude 0°8' Bar’s design does mix more traditional elements with modern touches reflecting the rich history of the Hotel since its opening in 1908, whilst at the same time achieving a more contemporary look and feel. I am very sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion.

Once again, thank you for staying with us and we very much look forward to welcoming you again soon. We will hopefully convince you that we are indeed a very special hotel.

Yours sincerely
